Here is the first cue building lathe with my custom H-Channel with Auto Feed, Taper Bar, router and much more.
This Cue Building lathe is the reason I designed the H-channel, the deep side wall dove tail makes it really easy to attach taper bar on the back side and auto feed Acme Rod and start and stop switches.
The head stock is the tall style 0.991" higher center than the regular taig headstock. I have couple of videos that will be uploaded to You-Tube some time today. Using a regular carraige with the side by side top slides gives the end user a much bigger turning radius, thus the router and router bracket are mounted directly on top of the spring loaded slide, which provides optimum weight distrubution on the carraige, and the top slide. it allows you to mount the router vertically or horizontally.
the custom pinion gear, and lead screw housing allow to add the 4" handwheel plus provides very smooth gear/leadscrew ingagement.
The auto feed motor is a custom high torque geared head 90 RPM servo motor with a built in speed control.
the on/off and reverse switch are mounted below the leadscew, which can be positioned anywhere along the bed.(perfect for making points)
The quick change tool post is a great addition to this lathe, it comes with 4 interchangable tool holders ( boring, cut off, and 2 regular tool holder 1/4" or 3/8")
3/8" 9-pc boaring set and 3/8" 5-pc indexable carbide cutters (pricing below)

It was very well thought out.. Bassel went an redesigned the whole look. And added alot of very nice accessories to make a complete package.. That the other Cue Building Lathes don't come with as a package...Show me any other small cue building lathe that has a H-channel, A custom 4" hand wheel..Bassel really took his time on this one PROPS to Bassel

Thanks for the kind remarks, I finally had a change to show the benefits and robustness of assembly using my H-channel instead of the traditional U-channel. Of course the 50% thicker walls of the H-channel with the double dovetail assembly gives it over 100% stronger structure that the other cue lathe makers.

Quick note: The Cue Building Lathes Come with the 1/2HP DC Rev. Motor (Penn State)
The unit in the picture has a smaller motor, which was requested by the customer.

Best Regards

How many completed. Is there any one currently using the lathe?

I know that Bassell has 3 or 4 almost done but I am actually using that lathe right now. I am just waiting on a couple of custom taper bars I ordered from Bassell so I can be in full swing next week.

I have sold 4 cue building lathes so far, but this one is the first to use my H-Channel. I have 3 more sold and will be shipped in the next 4 weeks.
I am very happy with the design and package. There also will be more add ons available very soon
Best Regards

Hi
I'm very impressed , seems well thought out.
What is the total price with accessories?
How come often people sell things here and don't list the price?
It's frustrating. Seems to be the same people so it must be intentional.

Unless I'm missing something, the price with accessories is listed in the OP.

cue building lathe

what advantages are there to his lathe compared to the hightower lathe. better quality, faster , easier , cost, etc.

Sorry for the late reply, I will try answering your questions with discretion. My lathe has an independent auto feed system with reverse and speed control, I am not sure how Hightower auto feed system works, as I have never seen one fist hand, also my carriage is slightly different which gives the end user a bigger turning radius and more space for router and bracket for multiple positioning, and finally the cost, mine costs about $800-$1000 cheaper when everything is said and done. In all it is a different machine and the only common thing is the dovetail and the steady rests
