IF AND WHEN Danny Medina returns from paying his debt to society who will emerge ?

Do you think he will ever play competitive level pool again ?

How a man handle adversity reveals his character....

What say you...pool community ?

why does he owe our society? and where is he returning from? I'm out of the loop..lol

Maybe he's playing everyday.
We'll know when he gets out.
With all of Danny's talent I would like to see him get back to his old form, or somewhere close.

See you at BI

Is this the Danny Medina from Denver, who used to specialize in playing with an over-sized, bar table cue ball? If so, I knew him (mostly knew OF him) back in the early 70's. Flashy guy, who could play well, and wouldn't back down from ANYBODY!

Early 80's

I used to play Danny when I lived in Denver on the 9' table that the floor sloped from front to back. Was spotted the 5 & break for $5.00 a game to practice and most of the time.......I got beat. This was in 82/83 and he played great. What happened that sent him away?

Danny is doing a little time as a result of something to do with an automobile accident. I don't know any more details. I do know however, that whenever I ran into him at TS, he was always willing to play, and for pocket change. No, he doesn't play world class these days, and I would venture to say probably not even what I would consider one of the best 10 in Colorado. However, he still pulls some pretty cool strokes out of his @ss and has lot's to offer in terms of knowledge. I have no doubt in my mind that if he were to put in the time to make a come back the right way, he could be right back up there as maybe not a world beater again, but for sure a good shortstop to avoid when visiting Denver.

Danny's Return

Danny did return to Denver and started playing pool again. Shortly after he was diagnosed with cancer and is currently fighting that battle right now, much like he would fight his battles on the felt.

I am leaving Saturday to interview the Great Danny Medina. I am hoping to capture his life, as told by him. I'm sure It won't be everything but I'm certain it will be very interesting.

Cancer is real mofo. Progress has been made and hopefully there will be a cure, if not in our lifetime maybe our kids.

Keep Danny in your thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

Ray

Are you going to be at Felt this weekend?
Danny won a tournament at Felt a couple of weeks ago.
Hope to see you there

No idea where we will be meeting up but I would love to make an appearance and get to see many of my friends I haven't seen in a while.

He is usually at Felt on Sunday
Other than Felt, he comes to Side Pockets (retirement center) once and a while, but he gets tired, and he's lost quite a bit of weight.
There could be upwards to six AZers at Felt on Sunday...

I was going to head up for the tournament this weekend but if I made the finals I wouldn't be able to go Sunday. Wife has commitments and I'm stuck with kids .

Good luck to all

and to stay on topic, I payed Danny one back in 94/95 here in Colo Springs at Pinkies. The man was a machine and I was not

I don't know if Danny is playing in the 9ball box championship starting Saturday.
Maybe cashrider will chime in.

I will tell you something about Danny Medina.

He had the absolute worst pool instruction video I have ever seen.

It was like someone made an instruction video using a porn director and actors.

Plus he has or had, the record for the most racks run in a tournament with 9 against Incardona.

Maybe that is why he has done so well over the years teaching women with large breasts how to play pool.
He's very good at teaching women the stance, keeping those big babies out of the way.

The video of him running 9-racks in a row on Billy Incardona is really amazing.
Those were not easy runouts, and he was in such a zone he didn't know he had done it.

Where is that video?
