Just wondering from the Spokane area people what you think of the new owner and if its on its way up again to its old glory days. I know the tables needed recovering pretty bad last time, 9 footers back in shape? Hoping to drive down for a tourney in a couple weeks so was hoping for an update!

Ive been playing there almost nightly. Its still a little slow since the last owner ran it in to the ground, but things are looking up in there. The barboxes just got refelted 2 days ago,the 9ft Gold Crowns wont be done for a while I hear.Very little action in this room, but tourneys on Wed. and Fri.(Wed/got 16 or so players for the first week).Alot of money went into the remodel, and its a huge improvement.I think there is FB page with a few photos if your interested in seeing some pics.If you come down I'm sure I will see you there.

Thanks for the response! There is a 9ball tourney scheduled for Nov 20th so I was hoping the 9 footers would have been done by then...are they not in that good of shape? Do you have the FB link? I searched McQ's and Black Diamond and couldn't find it...Hopefully, if the tables are in good enough shape I'll make it down for that tourney!

I get the impression from the guy that refelted the barboxes that the 9' tables are a few months from getting done.I went to FB and I cant find it either now.As for the table conditions....... just dont try to slow roll em.

I play there every Monday night on a small league. It's going to be really nice when it's done. My only complaint is that the seating arrangements are kinda goofy. Some tables don't have seating near them at all......who wants to walk across the room to shoot pool if you're playing another team?

Actually, I have one other complaint: the barboxes are 75 cents. 95% of the tables in this town are 50 cents. I can't see chucking out that extra quarter to play there, so I don't. At 50 cents, I'd play there more often.

Easygame, come say hello if you're shooting tonight. My boyfriend Gene and I usually stay and shoot on the barboxes after league is over. You'll recognize me from this thread:http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?p=2680248#post2680248

I've been in there, it's going to take more than new cloth to fix them tables up to play right...or even half way right;) always lost on why when a new owner takes over a pool-room....they're always more concerned about fixing up everything else....but the one reason why most go there....the pool tables! They spend lots on everything else...then nickel and dime the tables....just don't make any sense to me;)

Agreed! Thats why I say you buy it and take it under your wing

What a wonderful idea! You up for it, RKC?

The barbox tables are really fast now......and very blue....everyone was barking about it. I like it better than the green flannel that was on there, no complaints from me.

Thanks for coming over to introduce yourself, Easygame. Funny that I already knew you. Small world!

Wow! McQ's is no longer McQ's? I remember taking trips up there back in the mid-90s with several of my WSU buddies to shoot in both the 8 and 9-ball tournaments on a weekly basis. Fun times! I'll have to check out the place next time I head over that way to visit a friend who lives outside of Spokane.

I'll try to remember my camera and post some pictures. It's still a work in progress, but coming along.
