I just got home after spending the afternoon with RandyG and several other SPF instructors working on the new "Same Aim" system. My initial reaction was "WOW!!" This seems to be the easiest and most accurate system I have encountered in 48 years of playing pool.
Everyone in the class was making straight in, cut shots, and bank shots with ease after just a very short time learning the simple process.

I intend to spend about a week refining the process in my own game, but I expect to be teaching Same Aim before the end of the month. I just need to wrap my mind around it, and get my own confidence solidified, so I can teach others. Right now, I still need to refer to my notes, but I expect that will pass quickly.

I will be reporting back on my own progress, and reactions from my students.

:-) It only took six years. Remember when we were arguing about Hal's systems on the whiteboard in Sterling's office?

Glad to see that your fellow instructors were able to refine this into something you can get better than my limited ability was able to get across.

I am sure your students will be very grateful to you once you start teaching this with confidence.

LOL, John. Yes, I remember that conversation very well. I guess it just verifies that you really can teach an old dog new tricks!

Randy and I went out to shoot some last night. In 3 hours, I don't think I missed 6 shots...and that was after only 2 hours of instruction. Give me a couple of weeks to get to the point where I don't have to think about it any more, and look out!

Hope you're doing well. How's my case coming along? My old Instroke is getting worn out!

Steve

Steve, along with being a great Instructor you are also a fine student. You will enjoy many hours of pool with SAME AIM.

It rained on my ass all the way from Charlotte to Frederick, Md.

Meeting Dave Segal tonight at Champion Billiards.

School in Rockville this week end still has an opening.

Talk later

Or there iz no fool like a old fool :grin-square::eek::smile:

Point taken. I will admit that I had doubts, as JB can attest to.. But I am nothing, if not willing to learn as much as I can, particularly since this is my chosen profession. I credit Randy for being able to make it all quite understandable. And when I began to apply what I had learned, the results spoke for themselves. I still don't make every shot, but I have become more accurate with far less effort.

Oz was right. We don't know what we don't know.

Steve

One question here: do you do more than just roll balls down the table? i mean, do you actually shoot a pool shot during this SAME AIM learning process?

Mike

Im interested in this aiming system myself but your statement looses me.

Of the five (5) Mother Drills that i was taught you only shoot a shot in one of them. an actual pool shot that is. and thats a tap in. the rest of them focus on rolling balls up and down the table, with specific things to concentrate on.

Wax on - wax off.

Pretty simple concept to learn new skills.

This isn't that "silly" aiming system that comes from CTE, is it? The people who use it are "delusional". Those people just "imagine" it's an aiming system. All their really doing is "guessing". If this comes from Hal Houle's aiming system you've got to be "nuts" to put any time in learning it. It's "not accurate" enough for me to waste my time with it. Anyone who uses an aiming system like CTE is a "fool". " Hahahaha", you guys are so "dam" funny. I sure "won't waste my time" learning another "stupid" aiming system. Get out your "tin foil hats"; ahahhahahahahahah!

Man, laughter is good for the soul. You guys are "sick".

I have a special chapter on just how silly CTE really is and you can read about it on my web site by clicking here.

I'm what they call a pretty good player and I've run my share of centuries and let me tell you, you don't need CTE to play pool.

No, I'm not going to tell you who I am. A few people on AZ know who I am but I'm not going to tell you who I am but I can tell you this, I am the smartest person on the planet and I invented a REAL-LIFE, super-duper pooper scooper and that thing really works. As to that CTE, I am so smart, you can just take my word, it is just plain "silly". YOu should really listen to a smart man like me because I know what I am talking about. NO! Of course I don't have to know how it works to be able to tell you without a doubt, IT JUST DOESN'T WORK. You are just freakin delusional. hahahahhahah. I am not my brother's sister and you can keep guessing but I'm still not going to tell you anything else except I don't live in Colorado, well at least I don't any longer but I am the smartest buttercup you have ever not seen". "ahhahahahaha, you guys are so stupid."

"This really disappoints me". "Me too".

"This commecialism in the forum is making me sick. :barf:

Look, I've been around the block a time or two and if you're telling me that pros use this system then I've got a Brookly bridge for sale. hahhahahahahahha.

Make a profit? You're trying to make a profit on an aiming system that is about a worthless as one of those vitamin infomercials. ahhhahahahhahahah.

Why shouldn't we discuss it freely to ad nauseum? We have a right that supercedes any decency that you might purport to have. ahahahahahaha.

Listen all that stuff is bunch of houliganism. It's "mind control", I tell you; that's all it is.

I'm really disappointed in you guys. Did you all leave me out of the club? I missed the memo.

This CTE stuff is a red heroin, she might be hawt, but your just going to get burned in the long run.

"Let me tell you one thing brother, I have been a minuteman and a colonel in the Army and I have actually used my stop watch to count the seconds for a meeting at the Pentagon so you can't tell me anything I don't already know. I've already been to the cat house and there ain't no cat there.":-)

I'm JoeyA and I am all out of steam. Hope you were entertained just a little.

Spot on Joey...

Spot on Joey...
but part of me wishes that they had just gone on their merry way and left the "silly CTE" to those of us who know different.
It reminds of a baseball anecdote (who it involved I am unable to determine) regarding the curve ball. When it first came on the scene the curve ball was regarded by many as an oddity, passed off as merely being an optical illusion.
When a pitcher using the curve ball was questioned about it being as such, the pitcher in question replied to the questioner .
(paraphrasing)
"Go stand behind that pole over there and I will kill you with this optical illusion".
For me, any more, the more non-believers the merrier.
You have taken a lot of heat for this Joey. The day of reckoning is upon us.
Thanks for all of your input throughout.

Joey...post #16 & post #19 are your WORST POSTS EVER.....big PATOOOEY!!!!

Remember...2 wrongs don't make a right....

Those posts are doing nothing but instigating and making fun (as you say) at the expense of others....and is like dropping a big piece of bloody meat in shark infested waters.

Why is it ok for you to do it and not others? The answer ...."They started it" is not acceptable.

The only reason I did not "direct quote" them is to give you the opportunity to modify them....The choice is yours though...:)
