Best Jump cue Under $100

Thanks for the reminder, Rusty. I forgot that you can get the J&J much cheaper in jumper form only.

I bought a brand new one from the for sale forum for $30 shipped to me....so you might even be able to find one for $25 locally (?). It jumped as well as most. In fact, a buddy of mine tried it at league, made the shot, and bought it from me right then. lol.

I've tried a half dozen or so jumpers (Pred. AIR - REAL light (too light for me), Lucasi, both the hybrid and the original - both very good, hybrid had the uber slick graphite? shaft like the AIR, worked well, but how will it hold up?, tried a buddy's Stealth - very similar to my more expensive 3 piece Jacoby in terms of performance, and I tried a couple of customs that friends' have (a Diveney, and a Lomax) - both GREAT!!

I decided buy the J&J cuz I knew a teammate would want it. lol I was right, and I knew he wouldn't mind the price. (Added bonus, he doesn't have to borrow my Jacoby anymore :D )

Thanks for all the input. I have it pretty much narrowed down to two. I wish I had the opportunity to test them out (would make things a lot easier) but everyone I know either doesn't have one or has one out of my price range.

Poisin VX2.9JMP

I'm still fairly new to jumping as I am primarily a APA league player and jump cues are not allowed. However I own a Poison VX2.9 jump break cue & later on I receieved the matching Jump cue as a gift. They both jump very well for me. The dedicated junp cue is a bit lighter & easier to handle for shorter jumps.

I find that the tackiness of rubber grip of the poison cue makes it really easy for me to keep a light grip using the dart method. Just flicking my wrist creates an easy jump.

Thanks again for all of the comments. I've done a few searches and the Stealth really has good reviews.

Right now I'm done to either the Stealth or Poison.. or Lucasi. I really like the idea of the extra extension for the Stealth.

Does anyone here have (extensive) good experiences with any of the above and can you share?

-Thanks again for all of the comments

For me the best out there is Jacoby. I have tried every one on the market. I have had mine for years. I play a lot of Bar Box with 3/4 slate and its will out jump anything I have ever tried. It cost a little more but is well worth the extra money. Just about anything will jump on the big tables with ease. Do you play on BB in leagues? If you ever try one it is all you will ever want. Good luck

I use 3 different jump cues,it depends on how close the cb is to the ob.
But if i had to chose 1 of the 3 it would be the frog.
Jumps pretty sporty and its less then a 100.00.

I reccomend the Fury Jump Cue.

It's $99 retail and $80 street price.

I brought the Bunjee Jumper to the USA in 1999 and have done hundreds of exhibitions using them.

At one time I had around 30 jump cues from various makers. The Fury jumps as well as any of them. With the Bunjee Jump it was possible to jump a credit card's width and the Fury jumper is no different.

The reason you are getting so many different answers is because just about all jump cues are equal in performance these days. Some are what I call ultralights at 6oz or lighter and they are like shaft jumping, very easy to jump and very difficult to control the cue ball. Cues like the Bunjee and the Fury Jump cue come in at 7-9oz and give you excellent jumpability with cueball control.

If you don't want the Fury then we also offer a Bunjee clone, the Sterling Jump Cue -

$58

And you get the satisfaction of buying from a company that supports your sport. (feel guilty yet?) :-)

What other two do you use?

Fisher jump cue and the 3rd one is a shaft about 15 inches long maybe a little more that goes on my regular playing cue.I cant remember the name
of it though, maybe someone on here will know what im talking about.
When the cb and ob get anywhere from 7 inches or more away from each other this thing does a great job.

I reccomend the Fury Jump Cue.

Thanks for the input and introducing yet another cue haha. But I guess it is like what you said, the cues are all close to equal; I guess it just comes down to personal preferences.

Jacoby Jumper

For me the best out there is Jacoby. I have tried every one on the market. I have had mine for years. I play a lot of Bar Box with 3/4 slate and its will out jump anything I have ever tried. I second the Jacoby, although I have only used it on 9' tables. I have had one for a few years now and a couple of friends have bought one after trying mine. It jumps with ease, and I can jump half a table or as close as 3/4 ball. A better person can do 1/2 ball jumps with this, but I don't use it enough to be that good with it. You can apply left and right English while jumping as well as I can draw, and even put on follow.

I have taught people to jump who have never done it before and within a couple tries they can all jump. Others who can jump all say the same thing, "wow, that jumps easy"! I have used a few other jump and j/b cues, and this is by far the easiest to use and most versatile. The list is Lucasi j/b, Varney j/b, Omen j/b, Fury j/b, Cuetec jump, and Predator Air jump.

I am not sure of current prices, but it should be close to $100, and if you check with Koinnkid on here, he should be able to beat any price out there.

Best of luck in whatever you decide.

Getting straight to the point..

What is the best Jump Cue for under $100 ? I'm not big on jumping (I'd much rather kick out or something) but there are increasing times where the ability to do a ball jump would help.

I've done searches and the:

- Lucasi Hybrid LHAH5 Air Hog Jump Cue

- Lucasi L2000JC Jump Cue

- Predator POISON VX Jump Cue

- Eric "The Preacher" Yow - Jump Cue

Come up often as far as the price but I haven't found many reviews on any of them.

With that being said, which is the best or is there another I should look at?

The jump cue made by Jacoby is awesome. It is $125 or $175 for the extender one, but well worth it. It also has the front finger groove for close ball jumping. The thing is amazing. I've used all kinds of other jump cues. And I would NEVER switch. That is JMHO though.

With the stealth and Jacoby being only $60 apart, going back to the day you brought your Jacoby would you have saved the $60 and gotten the Stealth?

that is a good question, but the $60 wasn't an issue to me considering how good Dave and the whole staff at Jacoby have been to me over the years!! I also like the notch just below the joint for short jumps (that the Stealth doesn't have). If you're willing to go over your original price point...my answer to the best jump cue for under $150 woulda been JACOBY, JACOBY, JACOBY!! Those cheeseheads know what they're doing, and are GREAT folks to boot.

So, if your UNDER $100 price has changed....follow the others advice and get ahold of Koinkid!! I know he'll sell you the 2 piece for a hundo, but not sure what he asks for the 3 piece. http://www.allaboutthegameroom.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=76

Jacoby

For the record, I have the two piece Jacoby. Never knew there was a 3 piece one until I saw it posted above. Not sure why you would need a 3 piece, the 2 piece can perform 99% of any jumps you will ever need IMHO.

Understandable, but if it had been an issue?

I'm able to get the Stealth used for $60 so I might be going with that now if i decide against the Jacoby.

Lucasi Jump/Break Cue

I have a newer cue I will sell for $100. Great cue but I like a lighter break cue. Quick release butt and break portion. Black.
Worth close to $200. Shipped for $110. Pics by email. PM me if interested.
