relevel/shim slate sections - must remove cloth?

If a table needs to adjusted by shimming the slate sections does the cloth need to be removed before shimming? If so can the cloth be reused after releveled or it be replaced? The cloth is fairly new and the table frame and slate needs to be releveled.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,
Unless the table is a Diamond with the leveling system you will have to remove the cloth. The cloth can be reused.

Agreed. If you're adjusting the level of the slates and it is screwed down, you take a chance on cracking the slate. You'll need to remove the cloth to be able to loosen the screws.

I don't remove all cloth... i just remove from first and last slate and leave it on the middle slate.

You'll need to pull the cloth to access the screws but also to remove and replace anything used to grout the seams.

PoolTable911- That would be true for a 3 pc. slate Diamond table too wouldn't it?
