i'd be interested, but i definately think a web based app would be better than an iphone app...get more interest that way
I have been down this road before, and you end up tracking way too much data. It becomes too tedious and you end up dropping it.
Why is everyone wanting to do this in the first place. To get your rating, that's easy to do. Here is how it is done:
1) Go ask 5 people that play better than you what they rate you as.
2) Average the 5 answers, and you have a pretty accurate rating.
You see, it makes no difference what you think you are, it only matters what other players think you are, and that's because they will base their negotiations for a game with you on what they think you are, which includes any spots by you or for you.
I have played for 49 years now, and there is only 1 statistic that I keep track of:
1) My win percentage of hill-to-hill matches, which is 88% BTW. This tells me how well I am standing up to the pressure and how smart I am playing.
If this is true (that you win 88% of your hill-2-hill matches) than you may want to ask yourself why you are letting so many inferior players take you to the hill. If you were really playing with a focused intensity I don't think as many players would be taking you to the hill. So maybe your H2H win percentage would go down to around 60% but only your equals would manage to get there. So your overall win % would go up. Just saying![]()
Yeah, plus I don't have an iPhone. I will make it easy for use on touch screen phones tho via the web. Plus, easy via using an actual computer.
Tossing together all the ideas and comments from people and will probably start coding it later this week, hopefully have something semi usable by this weekend.
He never said how many players take him to the hill. He just said, of the subset of matches that DO go to the hill, he wins 88%. If he has played 1000 matches, and 100 go hill-hill, he wins 88.
