There has been a high number of threads about the death of pool, what's wrong with pool, people getting scammed, players not being paid, the sky is falling etc.

While the content of these threads point out valid points it leaves the reader with two choices, either trade your cue for a fishing pole and spending more time on the lake or finding something that is going right with pool and building on it.

In my opinion Earl Munson's high school program in Dallas is the most worthwhile effort being made to preserve the game.

If you are looking to do something positive for the game consider creating and/or supporting a program like this. Here is a link to his website.

Agreed

I agree with you. I have devised a program for students in my area as an elective program for high school or even college courses. Unfortunately, the responses (when recieved) have been polite but insinuated a negative view of pool/billiards from the old stigmata of being a degenerate, hustler, pimp, gangsters' hang out stemming from the 60's or even earlier.

I have NOT stopped trying to convince them of the change in embiance and character in pool rooms / billiard parlors of today. I am one who is dedicated to restoring the image of pool back to what once was a classy passtime fit for nobles and royalty. We ALL must do our part to restore some class and dignity to the game and focus on shedding a POSITIVE light and influence just as much or even MORE than we do when promoting action.

This is the kind of stuff that I use to day dream about when I was in high school. There were schools back then that had pool teams and I always wished that it could of been my school.
Good web site. I registered. One of those students that a testimonial is written about plays in my Master League here in the Dallas area and he holds his own. Very polite & respectful. That is good to see.
