USPPA Reno players, did they get paid?

The Rooms at the Sands for the US Bar Table are $18 and $40 on weekends!

Can't beat that deal!!! Over $56,000 paid out in 2009.

We always pay all of our winners in Cash.

Not to mention that Bud light bottles are only 99 cents :) So if you get knocked out early u can still have a good time for cheap.

This sounds great... I haven't played in bar table events, but the rates and payouts are great! I'll try and make it!

I wish the USPPA never moved away from the Sands. After this mess, will the Peppermill ever want to do another pool tournament event?

I'm hoping that a handicap/open event on 9' tables is still possible in Reno.

Is 2010 when they didn't pay out?

Mark Griffin stated, "We always pay our winners in CASH", talking about USBTC - US Bar Table Championship (not USPPA). He quoted total pay out over $56,000.00 in 2009. PAID ON SPOT!!!

I was questioning is that 2009's payout or 2010's.

If you're wondering the same, $56,000.00 payout is 2009's.

If you're wondering if 2010 got paid, Yes players got paid, on spot!

If it is that simple then why didn't this happen with the USPPA Reno event prize money or the winner of the Men's US Open 9-ball event?

What could go wrong?

making up an added amount that will bring in the players, but not knowing were that added money will come from. A reciepe for disaster as the case in Reno.

the Sands Regency Hotel Casino

...I have very pleasant memories when the Sands held the USPPA Pro-Am Handicapped Tournaments and the Open Tournaments......They used to have it twice a year; once in June and then again in December.....It was difficult sometimes to go in December because of the wintry weather, but I hardly ever missed a tournament........After the tournaments, there were action games that went on through the night in the tournament rooms.....or you could contribute to the house by gambling at the tables...24 hour action.....It was lots of fun; I looked forward to it every 6 months........I do miss those good times.........oh well, as they say, "good things don't last forever..."

That is way too simple. Isn't there some type of regulation or enforcement or oversight about the added money slogan?

Am I to believe that tournaments just operate and promote to the same level of fact as an infomercial? The sport is too old and too sophisticated for me to even consider the tournament a sham from the start.

Has it happened before?

WTF is wrong with you? We have paid in cash every event we have ever done - coming to millions of dollars and YOU put crap like that in a public forum?

CSI - BCAPL - USAPL and all other events we have been affiliated with have paid out every dime every time.

I think you owe ME an APOLOGY.

Do you stop to even check to see what you are writing - because your information is VERY WRONG.

Perhaps you are thinking of another event? Then perhaps you should go beack and edit your post.

JUSTNUM - I sent you a PM several days ago. You should take the time to read it and respond. A few other posters have stated you don't add anything worthwhile to the dialogue. Some even said you don't know sh*t. I think they are correct.

The thread title "USPPA Reno players, did they get paid?" and the post confused me.

I thought he was discussing the USPPA Reno event and possible a different USPPA event.

So what could wrong with the Reno event for payouts? Why the delay? Is this a promotional gimmick?

We pay out!!!!!!!!

Do you know what a PM is?

Please respond because you are acting like an idiot.

The reason we pay out at all our events is because we know what we are doing. We have the funds on hand to make the payouts.

Why are you determined to type before you think?

Mark Griffin

(I am done with you)

I have just learned all Mark Griffin's events payout.

The USPPA Reno event was that also paid out?

There is a simple answer: He did not have the added money!! Dont promote a tournament without having your ducks in order!!!!!

Not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. Sad day for the pool world!!!!

Thank you for helping me understand the current point of discussion.

How can you be sure it is the last? Is there a plan of action?

As has been posted over and over again----> This is a very uncommon occurance.

Every tournament I have played in the past I have been paid in cash.

It is simple.... pay entry.... play tournament.... collect winnings if you cash.

Solid promoters work very hard to build their reputation and the players who play their events trust them. No other guarantee of payment is necessary.

That post reminds of something about people with real money and real reputations on the line.

The fast track portion of the story is the players got paid but over an extended period of time, which also worked in favor or promoting the tour and creating BUZZ.

In relation to the USPPA Reno event maybe a little cousin of the one I can't stop recalling because of how great the times were, the girls, the lighting, the film production everything was first class and the celebs.

There was once staff for changing the score. Gorgeous staff. She would put most newly legal pre-preggers babes to shame. If she just bats here eyes at you it is like being stopped by a freight train. I'd wait for that train frequently. I am not talking about some computer operator pushing buttons for a display board. I am talking about a living woman that would get in front of everyone and let the score be known. I liked knowing the score. Sometimes I would read but had to read slowly as if she had a mystical power that reduced my ability to read.

Dudley,

it's not as uncommon as you think. I dont mean no payouts, but there are many times tournaments dont add all the money or cheat and pay out places at the wrong amount. This happened with a tour in cali this year. As a player you should add up money paid out and make sure it matches money added and money recieved in entries. We as respectable owners do (at least I do).

You have read the facts about Mark ALWAYS paying out since page one of this thread.

The constant conspiracy theories and worthless information aren't helping anything but your post count.

I hope you take Mark's advice and "think before you type".
