Updates on page 1. No mail on Monday with the MLK holiday.

The phone is ringing off the hook at the Carom Room. Plenty of spots left. Could be a mad dash this week for the remaining spots :yikes:

No credit/debit cards. No Paypal. Cash or money order.

Lets fill this one up fast ;)

For those players coming back on Sunday...

NFC Championship! Bears vs Packers  free food too

Looks like we did our job if 1/2 the field is worth buying in the calcutta

Damnit that duane tuula is smooth! Doesn't it hurt Duane? Being so damn witty? ;) I won't be there, I'll be at derby donating in the banks division... Hope you guys have a good one and would love to hear about an underdog snapping it off when I get back from kentucky but who knows... Duane never seems to run out of snappy replys so don't even bother folks. You can't win. I know, I've tried :) LOL!

Joe, I don't think he was referring to your 1/2 of the field

Entries updated...

I know he wasn't referring to my half thats for sure! I've never understood why I go as high as I have! IDK... maybe people think I'll get lucky sometime soon or something! These are great tournaments for those of you who can't make the drive to some of the bigger tourneys down south this weekend... Hell, its probably the best tournament to go to regardless of where you're located!

Because it is a "no masters" tourney based on our judgement

We use national lists as an absolute "no" for rating purposes. State masters may or may not be allowed based on further research. Other players who are not on any "masters" list still may not be allowed based on knowledge of ability.

I believe we have done a great job & run a good tournament. We always work extra-hard behind the scenes to maintain the integrity of the "no masters" division.

If you feel strongly about a player (or more) in the field then I suggest you come & buy them in the calcutta and laugh all the way to the bank ;)

So known ability Greg Andler 1st VNEA Bahamas Open
Dennis Babcock 2nd place ACS Midwest Masters 2006 -07
Just saying, how do they fall throw your knowledge of ability list?:bash:

Mr. Herbeck, as I'm sure you are aware it is a diffcult and ongoing process to "rate" every player. We have done a pretty good job to date with more & more players coming "out of wood work" on a regular basis. We have made adjustments and will continue to do so to insure the integrity of our "no masters" fields.

Gregg is surely one of those players who is borderline in our minds. He has played in many tournaments and has never dominated and will still be allowed play in our "no master" tourneys unless he is rated a master by the BCAPL or VNEA or meets our tournament win criteria in Beloit. The tourney you mention that he won was many years ago. Everyone deserves to do well once in a while...

The decision to allow Dennis to play was put to a vote. He passed but was given a "short leash". Any top 3 finish was an automatic move to "open". He did well and has been moved accordingly. The tourney you mention where Dennis was 2nd was a 7 or 8 player field. Troy Miley won and he is also playing in our "no master" events currently ;)

With all of the new players coming to Beloit we have talked of expanding our rating committee. We will most likely look for active players or promoters who are outside of the Beloit area to help keep our ratings as good as possible.

BY THE WAY THANKS FOR THROWING MY NAME OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
With all that said. Could you please explain why am i not allowed? I have played in all but one of the masters cash once barely. I got bump to a nation master because i got 4th once in vegas out of 25 years of going. 18 or 19 of those years i never even cashed. Where's my Carom Room jelly? By the way i won that event not Troy.

Scott, figured since you are going to be running a tour again people would like to know who is posting. You ran a great WI tour before and I'm sure you can do it again!

You did specify a year that was not 2008. I had to google to see Troy won that mini-slugfest in 2008. Apparently Dennis never did win in the past. Is the ACS actually relevant anymore regardless??

I think you moved up around 2000 in the BCA. In the years since all you had to do was play in the masters twice in a row without cashing. Once that is established if you request they will remove your name from the masters list. Then you have a shot at some Carom Room jelly

Duane,
I sent $105 out today for Chris Baumann, Josh Smith and Brian Wilken. Any chance of saving 3 spots?
