Cue Smith Large Bore Headstocks

The Mid Size Cue Smith headstock with 1.4" spindle bore with one chuck is $325. This includes a pulley and belt. This is a true one piece headstock housing. This headstock also has our original triple bearing design. I feel this is the best quality direct replacement for the small bore headstocks that can be found.

Our Deluxe Taller height headstock with two chucks is $650 and includes pulley and belt. This headstock would require risers for all your steady rests and tailstocks.

I bought one of these well over a year ago from Chris as an upgrade to my mid size lathe and agree with this statement completely. I have owned most of the large bore options and have found that this is my favorite based on pure performance. Out of the box without truing the jaws the runout was lower than my deluxe headstock after extensive tuning. I would be guessing at the runout as my dial indicator's resolution is limited to .001", but after truing the jaws and measuring on a 3/4" precision ground test rod the needle barely flutters. Alignment was perfect with the steady rest that came with my original lathe purchase.

I couldn't be happier. Thank you Chris for offering another excellent product.
