To Review or Not to Review -- THAT is the Question

I'd also like to read it lou. You seem like someone who knows what he's talking about and not the type to be afraid of a little healthy debate. The CTE fire will burn no matter what you do, at least the next thread get started with good intentions and an honest educated perspective.

Alrighty then. I guess I'll have to post it.

Lou Figueroa
honest
AND
educated :-)

I think you should post your review, in the product review section, not here. Its a sad day here, when we can't post our opinions and thoughts without incurring personal attacks or intimidation.

If you prefer sending a PM instead, please include me. i would be interested in reading your thoughts and opinions.

hmmm, no to the idea of posting it elsewhere. The this has always been the home of CTE. Pat Johnson died here. His blood still stains the sands of the main arena. Here it shall be posted.

Lou Figueroa

Lou - as Rick said to Ilsa, "if you've written that review and you don't publish it, you'll regret it .... oh, not tomorrow or next week, but soon, and for the rest of your life." (Or something similar).

If you publish, then Dr. Dave just may say to you, as Victor Laslow said to Rick, "Welcome back to the fight .... this time I know we will win!"

It's too bad Peter Lorre, I mean Patrick Johnson, was shot in the cafe and won't be there to help you.

lol.

Ilsa: Post it once, Sam. For old times' sake.
Sam: [lying] I don't know what you mean, Miss Ilsa.
Ilsa: Post it, Sam. Post "As CTE Goes By."
Sam: [lying] Oh, I can't remember it, Miss Ilsa. I'm a little rusty on it.
Ilsa: I'll hum it for you. Da-dy-da-dy-da-dum, da-dy-da-dee-da-dum...
[Sam begins posting]

Post it Lou, some of us value YOUR opinions. I have the DVD and my own opinions on it. I would like to know yours, whether you post it here or send to me in PM :)

Thanks for your contributions.

I think I shall post it here.

Lou Figueroa
you must remember this...

Post it on the instructional review section of the site. It is better moderated, and cuts out all the back and forth crap your review is sure to receive, regardless of if its positive or negative.

If someone has a different viewpoint, they can post their own review along side of yours, in the same thread of the review section.

My skin is thick so I'm not worried about flak. In memory of Pat Johnson, I will post it here.

Never stops me from posting MY opinions. "F*ck 'em if they can't take a joke" has always been one of my favorite sayings. You either got a set of brass balls or you need to grow a set.

C'mon lou, post it up in the name of information sharing!!!

Maniac

I got em! Now let me go get my brass balls.

wherever it is
my wife keeps them

Lou, you've always seemed intelligent, self-confident, and courageous. I can't imagine you are now apprehensive about posting your review of the /CTE DVD - if it is sincere. In fact, I believe you will be letting a lot of people down if you do not post your review.

It took a lot of harsh debate over a long period of time to force the production of this DVD. And there has been alot of pompous representations and even wagers offered that this DVD would finally put end to the argument that CTE/ProOne is an exact aiming system. As I recall you and some others had issues withat regarding bridgelength, in particular.

If you're smart enough to finally close this issue, please do so. Doing otherwise, for politeness sake etc, is really pussyish, IMO.

Lou's just teasing us.

Either that, or he's waiting for JB or JoeyA to come on here and firing a warning shot across the bow. They have such fun, those three. Where's Patrick when we need him? :p

I have JB (along with four other shee-at tossing CTE Monkeys) on Ignore :-)

And I don't mind little blue ink from Joey.

I keep seeing something about a guy who got kicked off the forum named Patrick.

What did he do that was so bad? Is it even permitted to ask?

336robin

Think the final scene from "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid."

If I craved attention I wouldn't have stayed out of the CTE Wars for so long. Like I said, I've sorta of enjoyed being out of the mainstream of the whole CTE thing lately, as oposed to being in the middle of it. So I wasn't really sure I want to post a review. But, the mood of the group seems to be receptive, so I am going to do it.

I wrote it yesterday and now I am letting it sit and will look at it one more time later today when I have more time, to make sure I don't want to make any changes -- like making some part of it stronger or softer in tone. That's all :-)

That is very wise. You'll be happier with the finished product as a result.

And don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to reading it. I'm quite removed from the debate, and actually enjoy following it, so long as everyone plays reasonably nice in the sandbox. :embarrassed2:

Here is the thing: regardless of what I think, Stan invested a lot of time effort and money into the project and I respect that. And frankly, lately I've become ambivalent about the whole CTE thing and have adopted a "live and let live perspective." So even though I bought the DVD -- and then wrote the review -- I wasn't sure that posting it would add any value. The CTErs are going to believe what they want to believe and those that don't believe in the system are also unlikely to change their opinion.

It's not a fear of controversy. Hell, dealing with that is the easiest part. I was just feeling that all things considered, it might not be worth it. But, there has been enough positive feedback that I will post it later today.

is it possible this guy can be more of a drama queen?

Oh Excuse me wrong thread. Seems I stumbled into the Lou show.
Seems it is a rerun. To get on the right topic , you dont need to do a review
Dr Dave has posted most of Stans info already. What a guy.

You are right, your review will not change anyone's mind that has already decided; however, your review may be very helpful to people who are on the fence about CTE.

I say definitely post it; I think most people like your writing style and value your opinion.

I bought the CD but have not had a chance to watch it yet.

I say post away....

If you truly have a "live and let live" attitude, then you would not post your review.

I'm not sure that those saying yes to you posting your review is positive feedback. Just people wanting to read more about something that has already so much written, positive and negitive, about it.

Does your review really add anything new to what has already been posted? That is the only question that needs to be answered and only you can answer that.

Be above what has been.....

FYI....

I don't think you should post the review. While I respect your opinion, and you generally write intelligently, your lack of faith in the idea of CTE is well documented. I think a review that you posted would create more of a bickering thread than one of value. Please don't take this as a negative statement towards you, as I certainly don't mean it that way, but there are already a number of threads with this type of info going on anyways.

I think all that needs to be said is that CTE works, but it requires a lot of effort to become proficient at it, and that it is more complicated at first than most probably expected. You can't expect to watch the DVD and be 1-2 balls better within a short period of time. However, if you are willing to invest some time with it, the system will probably improve your game.
