About a year and a half ago I experienced a great tradedy with the passing of my daughter. I would like to keep her memory alive by holding a charity pool tournament at Cue 'n Spirits in Winston-Salem. I'm trying to gauge the number of players I might be able to draw. My initial thought is to do a 50/50 split- but I am open to ideas, and may be able to pay out 100% if I can find enough sponsors. The donations will be given to Brenner Children's Hospital, a branch of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, also located in Winston-Salem. Please respond with any ideas, tips, suggestions or comments about drawing interest and players, any comments on buy-in, buy backs, format etc. Thank you!

Cue 'N Spirits has 15 9' Sam Billares "Kim Steel" tables

I like $50 dollar buy in no handicap. I think no handicap will work because it would be one of very few no handicap tournies in this area. Plus $50 is about right i think. I could see $100 entry working but not every month Or was this gonna be a once a year tourny?

Very sorry for your loss,,,,,,,,I think she would be proud of this effort. Good Luck.

Agreed. Bless you and your family, Notthatgood.

TO address your question though, lower entry fees usually result in larger field sizes, IMO.

First place of $1k will usually ensure a pro winner, though NC has been a pretty tuff place for tourneys recently.

I appreciate the input, I was thinking more of a yearly thing, hopefully with some sponsors putting up some money to keep the donation and payouts to a decent level. This will most likely take place in May or June. If you are interested in playing, helping, sponsoring, or you are a pro who may like to play, please send me a private message. Thanks!
