Can Anyone Help With A Ride To Valley Forge???

I live in Effingham, IL. It's where I-57 and I-70 meet. I have gas money and I can find lodging when I get there. I'm open to go on any day and I could possibly meet you somewhere close if I had to. I would also like any suggestions you may have. It's short notice I know but gas is expensive and I would love to go since I missed the Derby this year. Please help me out folks.

Two things.

1. In this day & age it simply isn't safe to give strangers a ride. You haven't posted much so for all intents and purposes, you're a stranger.

2. Once you reach a certain mileage it isn't worth it to drive to something that only lasts a few days. I believe most, outside of vendors and the few that are either retired or somehow have all the time in the world, fly to the event.

You can always take a bus but to get there in time, you're going to need to leave soon. Also, just know that there are no hotel rooms available at the convention center nor in walking distance which will make things very difficult for you if you don't have a car.
 
I was planning to drive that way till last week. Flying is cheaper by a long shot than driving.

I would like to go play in a tournament!! Would like to see the pool scene out there. Why else would I want to go? If I'm such a stranger and your going through and could possibly give me a ride then I'm sure I would love to talk to you and maybe connect on some levels. Maybe we have played pool in the same place or played each other in a tournament. Maybe I know someone you know. Maybe I'm looking for players that want to play on the way. If someone doesn't want to try to get to know me or connect on some level before they just pick me up then I don't want a ride from them. Thank you for your concern! I'm Chris by the way. I always just rent a car. They usually get much better mileage then my car as well as save wear and tear on my car. I drive older classic cars but never take them on trips. If you split it with someone else near you who wants to go the trip it can be pretty cheap. Beyond that, why would anyone want a stranger in their car for a little gas money? Not to mention the responsibility. Some things are too much to ask. There must be someone you know who wants to go.
 
I guess posting something like that on here wasn't the best idea. It's not a HIPPie forum.lol. I'm just stuck and thought there was maybe someone out there. I appreciate the views and feedback.

I guess my Uzi and my Crack Habit will just walk there! Just kidding.;)

In all honesty my town is pretty much a dead zone. drunken bar pool here only. Small APA turnout. I have to go to the break in Cahokia to play in a decent tourney with players that would have any interest in the SBE. Even then I still have to find a ride. Good luck to all that have the pleasure of going.:thumbup:

You know, the no drivers thing without any details is a bit of a red flag. I own a few rental apartments and when someone tells me they don't have a license I can only imagine the worst. This is only second to the ones that ware their religion on their sleeve. If they bless me I run the other way.

Seriously People!!!!!

I don't think you know how I lost my license and it doesn't matter to me if you do. I think that you should judge people based on there personality and how they act. When you discriminate against me based on me having a license or not, then you piss me off. I have good credentials and if you don't like what I post then please keep it to yourself. I would not belittle anyone based on their having a license or not. To tell you the truth, I know plenty of people from playing pool all across the midwest and I don't know there numbers or AZ names. I sure thought maybe there would be some people on here that would at least ask me my name and see if they new who I was. Then we good go from there. If it didn't work out then it didn't work out. I was just asking. People can be so harsh!!! :angry:
