Pool Halls near SBE, Valley Forge

Blew me away when I read your thread and seen Chink's on Torresdale Ave. That place has been there for years. In my younger days I went there for lunch a few times a week, used to work near the Tacony Bridge. It's good to hear the place is still open. Also had some great times hanging out at Tacony Billiards and Pete Fusco's place.

It has been there for years. Since '49, I think. It probably looks the same as it did when you went there years ago, save for a 'newer' coat of paint. The man who owns the place worked for the original owner - whose nickname the shop is named after - for 20 years.

FWIW, there was a flyer for Classique Billiards. Maybe this information could be filed away for next year. They claim to be the closest poolroom to the convention center.

According to the flyer, they have 11 Gold Crowns with K66 rails and Simonis 860, out of 20 tables. For the duration of the Expo, they have special hours from 1PM to 3AM, and playtime was $5/HR.

I stopped at a place my friend showed me on out way back one time it was Classique Billiards it was in Phenoxville right out side of Valley Forge. It's I believe about 10 to 15 minutes away. We went there about 9 or 10 pm and it wasnt really buisy but it was a decent place , pretty nice. Decent tables and the people and owner were friendly. They had said it was a room that Karen Kohr and some friends play out of also. But I didnt see them besides pictures on the wall. Hope this helps ,,,,ED

I went there for the first time this year. It was a nice room. The kind of place I want to own. The tables were a little on the slow side though.
