Would like info on older Joss cue

I have a Joss cue I traded for back in the late 80's that has ivory ferrules and an ivory butt cap. I was told it had been custom made and was a one of a kind. I would like any information that might verify this and possibly find out what the current value might be and when it was actually made.
It is in original condition. I believe the dark wood is ebony. 4-point with 2 horseshoes.

I have some serious doubts about the butt-cap being ivory.
You might also try consulting the Blue Book of Cues.

I don't know much about Joss cues but in the late 80's a very good friend of mine bought a 4 point, 4 veneer cue from a billiards store and the points were sharp. I don't know when they went to CNC rounded points, but IIRC it was in the mid 90's... but I could be wrong about that.

I've sent these pictures and the same request to Dan at info@josscues.com on Jan. 29 and again on March 5 and
he hasn't even bothered to respond.
He is a member here do a search try a PM!About a year or so ago he told me being retired now he only goes in 1 day a week(Monday I think)give him a call at Joss on Monday and get his personal email addy!!!Dan Janes is as nice a person you'll ever know and he loves to try to help.......................
oh and I could be wrong but, that looks to be one of the ''movie'' cues too

I traded for this cue in '89 or '90 and it was at least 1-2 years old at that time because I got it from the 2nd owner in Louisville, Ky.

I'll give that a try. Thank you for the information.

I'm not positive either. I'm just going on what I've been told. That's
why I'm trying to get more info on it so I know the facts about
this cue.

I would guess early 80s. The Blue Book says they started to use pantographed points in the early 80s. My 1985 Joss has the logo at A and B in the joint. Standard butt caps were Delrin and are yellow like this cue. The ferrules were ivory (visible) and look different than the butt cap. I don't see horseshoes or this logo in the Blue Book. You would need confirmation from Joss to determine if it is one of a kind.

My 1985 is straight as the day I received it from Dan.

AND i cannot find out if it is a Joss East or a Joss. I bought it in the early 90s but it is a beautiful 4 point cue with 2 shafts, the Joss has worn off one of them but the other one I have maintened and hardly played with and it has the Joss embossing on it.

Wish I could get some info on this que. In 1995 Diana Kramer offered me $400 for it, so I figure it must be worth something. I know it is to me.

Not really a Joss East!!Joss is on the east coast and JossWest on the west coast

I think it's an early Joss production, maybe customized, but I've seen that model before...you may recall the character "Julian" in the COM used this model, if you look at the scene at the tourney where he sweeps the one-nine combo in with the butt of his cue when playing Eddie, you'll see the horseshoe. It inspired the cue I'm having Trevor Donahue at CC custom make me, it's about to be shipped...:D

Doesn't anyone from Joss Cues ever respond???? I've sent several emails directly to them along with this post and can't even get an acknowledgement from them that they are looking into it.
