Went to play in a weekly tournament last night at Ck's on Marsh lane. Well
It seems this was place to be last night and this weekend. All the Pros were there last night Johnny A, Mike D, Steve Moore, CJ, SVB, Rodney Morris, Raj, Shawn Putman, just to name a few. It was great seeing some much talent in one pool hall. Can't remember last time this happened in the Dallas area.

I hope everyone that is driving distance will make it an effort to come see some great billiards live. The Ultimate ten Ball tournament in Dallas will be a great tournament with some display of talent. I can't wait.

I'd be there for sure if I still lived in the area. I hope it's a great success for everyone involved.

Don't forget the players meeting for the tournament is tonight, at 8 pm I believe, so players will tied up with that for a bit.

Ugh! I wish I could be there. opie, where about in North Texas you from? I went to school in UNT and lived in Denton and Coppell for many years.

I am from Carrolton, I live in Denton. When did you live in the area? I use to run around in Lewisville and worked in a pool hall there.

Players meeting is 9 PM at the Embassy Suites.

The ladies at CK's were trying to get enough players during the day tonight to run a warm-up 10-Ball tourney at noon. If you are in the area and stop by, there may be some more pros out today getting some last minute practice in (and if you get there earlier enough, you may be able to play against them).

I was there from 2000-2005 finished my BS and MS both at Austin and UNT. I used to go down Carrolton a lot for the Vietnamese market and Pho (Belt Line I think?). I used to travel around from Denton to few other places: Houston, Amarillo, College Station, etc, but mostly participated in collegiate tournaments. UNT has some nice pool tables in the Student Union. Funny thing is I never quite play pool around Dallas as much. Which pool hall did you work at?

U.S.A. Billiards, it was owned by the same guy who owned O'reileys in Denton. I think that he sold or closed O'reillys when you were at UNT. I Quit playing in '96 and started again like a year ago

I know USA Billiards. I frequented JR Pockets a lot whenever I was in Denton. Used to play the Wednesday in-house league there.

I am trying to talk my boss into letting me leave early. But 12 will be pushing ing.

I'll be driving up there tonight - it's going to a great weekend with a lot of great pool!

If you played UPL league at Pockets from the time period of 2000-2005, then I must know you...

I started my pool career in Denton at Muther's in 1999 and progressed to playing UPL league starting in 2000. My last year to play was 2004 I think, when I moved Lewisville and started playing SWEL.

Then we must know each other. :) I was with Stacie Smith's team for more than a year, and it is definitely within the year range you suggested. I believe I finished 3rd in 2004, but I'd have to check to be sure. Kennan Keffer and Rusty Williard also came to my mind while thinking UPL, and I traveled with a few of them to Nationals one year.

This is me playing at Pockets many many years ago.
