Oshkosh, WI The Varsity Club, April 23rd!

Jeremy, your refusal to watch the hit was beyond immature.
I haven't been your place in almost 2 yrs. The valley table incident was a crock of shit. You said "everyone else had to play on them when the diamonds were all full up so I Shouldnt complain".
Guess who didn't play on them... YOU!
I drive 180 miles to play on good equipment.
You don't have enough so you bring in 3 valleys, throw them together in a rush effort to have them ready, and NOT 1 of them was level. I lose 1 rd out of the $$$ on 1 of those crappy tables that YOU never had to play on. The whole day. You got 4th I think in that tournament.
Anyways, here I am 2 yrs later. With Randy Lamar jumping out of his seat to check where my cueball is with regards to the headstring mid break stroke. Checking my racks in a RACK YOUR OWN tournament. Yelling out, "where ya goin with that?!" after Ive called the shot 3 times between getting down, aiming and readjusting. He doesn't call 1 god damn shot the entire match and he's jumping out of his seat checking my racks, cue ball placement etc, and I'M TRYiNG TO SHARK HIM?! Get real Jeremy.
Your payouts suck. My math may be elementary (becuase I was off in remembering $25 of te payouts). But it's good enough to figure out that I played in a $40 tournament of yours once that paid out $15 to the first 4 who cashed and $25 to the next four who cashed. There were enough people to pay out 16 spots total (at least 64 players) and you paid out a grand total of $160 to the first 8 spots in the $$$?! That's worse than a kick in the nuts. Your payouts are a little top heavy to put it nicely.

The last stop of the Lucasi Hybrid All American Tour

$1,000 added

8 ball Tournament

$40 entry

Race to 5 on both sides

Big Calcutta!
Hey Jeremy, can you tell me where it says that nearly 40% of the entry fees would be for sanctioning and greens fees?
Maybe next time that stuff should be mentioned.

Here's the thing. Do you think this would piss people off?

$64,000 added tournament!!!
Limited to 64 players!!!!
$1,000 entry fee

when it's all said and done there's only $64,000 in payouts.
Everyone is scratching there heads saying "I thought this was $64,000 added!"
the tournament director says,"well it is. But there was $60,000 in greens fees and $4,000 in sanctioning fees." But don't worry guys we added $64,000 just like we said we would.

What a joke.

Lol I just realized you put my full name in your reply like you're going to oust me or something. Or is it that you want to show how cleaver you are because you figured out who is was? The users of this site know who I am Jeremy. I've disclosed my name in the past. Thanks for reminding everyone of my first and last name. I've also given out my phone number in these threads as well. You want to offer up my address too? Give it a whirl Moby!

You act like you've never taken money out of the Calcutta. Do you not understand that other TDs promote their tournaments as "no $$$ is ever taken out of the calcutta." BECAUSE OF PAST TOURNAMENTS at YOUR POOL HALL?! Lol open your eyes brother...

Dear Joe Durham,

Let's clear something up. The entry fee was $40. Of that entry there was a $10 greens fee and since this was an ACS tournament there was a $5 fee that went straight to the ACS, not to me. This means that $25 of each entry went towards the tournament payout.

So payout was as follows:
47 players X 25 = 1175

Then add the FULL $1000 that I added to the tournament = $2175

NOW, add all the payouts for the tournament and tell me what that adds up to:
1st $700
2nd $ 500
3rd $350
4th $225
5/6th $100
5/6th $100
7/8th $50
7/8th $50
9/12th $25
9/12th $25
9/12th $25
9/12th $25

That equals $2175. So let's be clear about something, I fully added a $1,000 dollars to that tournament and paid it all out.

Now on to the Calcutta that you mentioned. There was $1950 in the calcutta total.

Payouts for the calcutta were as follows:

1st $750
2nd $550
3rd $300
4th $200
5/6th $75
5/6th $75

The payout equals $1950. No money was taken out of the calcutta, it was fully paid out.

Now on to the fact that I refused to watch a hit for you. You were blatantly trying to shark your opponent. I refuse to get involved in a situation like that. Every player has a right to have a referee watch a hit, but that is within reason. A referee must never be used as a means to shark an opponent.

So let's sum up what we've been able to figure out:

You brought up the payouts and were completely wrong.

You try to have me shark your opponent and you were wrong to do that.

You have these perceived complaints and don't have the heart to ask me about them personally, instead you use some sort of 3rd grade math equation and come up with the wrong answer, and then anonymously post them on the internet. You are wrong to do so.

Overall, you need to grow up. Grown men don't handle situations like you have.

:)Is this guy still talking to himself? I like...I too talk to myself to help justify things. It doesn't usually work, but I find my voice comforting!

Props to Jeremy for being the bigger man and zipping his mouth...he is a class act as usual! The Varsity Club is as good as it gets when it comes to pool halls.

I for one, cannot believe Patrick went two and out, but I'll take the seven or 10-6 anytime he wants to give it up. ; )
I know he is more of the gambler than the tourney player himself. :)

You got action. Too bad you're so scared to play you had to move all the way to Texas to avoid me. Lol.

Are greens fees something new in the pool world? I've only been playing for like 8 years and I don't ever remember going to a tournament where greens fees weren't taken. Find me a venue where they never take greens fees and I'll be happy to drive there and play every week.

You weren't offering enough weight! I switched from playing pool to drinking and golfing...lol....much less stressful.

Also, not taking money from a calcutta is not the standard. Hell, there's a very popular tour down south that took 20% from the calcutta at the tournament I played in and nobody said a word.

This topic isn't worth going into...it has been debated over and over so many times it is nauseating just thinking about going over again. ;)

Come to texas and Ill give you the seven and seven shots a side! Action!

Texas is too far. Meet me in Vegas next month!

I'm real confused.... comparing the Carom room tournament on Oct 9 and Jeremy's tournament.

The Carom Room paid out $1906 with 50 players and Jeremy paid out 2150 with 47 layers. I assume the difference is that The Carom Room prorates the added $$ where Jeremy just flat out added $1000. I agree that the Carom Room runs a great series of tournaments but it looks to me like Jeremy's is as good if not better in the payout department.

I think both rooms are doing great things for the game of pool in the Midwest and we should be grateful for what they do.

That settles that.

Not that they are new. But when combined with sanctioning fees etc, they make up 37.5% of such a large entry fee, I think the amounts should be disclosed in advertising for the tournament.

To me, the difference is, the room owner and the TD are two different people. Down there the TD needs to cover travel expenses etc... When you're the room owner, you dont get a pass on that crap.

The tournament directors travel expenses are paid for by the room owner down there. His food and drinks too. At least they were 4 years ago and the tour is still going strong.

The entry fee at the carom room is $35 not $40.
