Richard Black Question

I have an unsigned Richard Black from I believe 1975 due to the specifications. I have owned it since 1986. It has a 5/16 pin and a Flat joint and no inlays at the joint as you can see in the pictures. Does anybody have an idea as to the value of the cue being it is such an early cue? Do you think it increases the value being it is so early? I was thinking of sending it back to Richard for a refinish and rewrap.
Thanks
Ken

Not sure of the value, but if the condition and wrap are both in good shape, I'd leave them and keep it all original as it usually keeps the value higher. I would just get a LOA from Richard Black if possible. The only thing not going for the cue is it isn't signed, and if you get the LOA it's just as good as it being signed.

Black cue

How many shafts? Are they straight? Ferrule type? These things will influence value. Your cue is probably worth 1000-1200 with 2 shafts ivory ferrules and straight. I have seen them on eBay in the last few months. Go from 6-900 depending on condition.

Nice cue, but unsigned and no LOA, I think it will be a tough sell...just too many copiers.

Send it to Richard...if it needs refinishing, ask him to sign/date at that time, otherwise, an LOA is critical.

Thoughts on value...signed or LOA...$1000 (w/2!hafts)

No LOA or signature...you will be lucky to get half that.

Joe is Top Shelf in my opinion. He has helped me a lot the last few years. He's been patient and generous with his time and knowledge. Joe, probable knows as much about current market value as anyone. He is a man to listen to.
