Slight follow ( 2 inches) on the ball in the side pocket. Play the 10 ball in the corner by coming off the rail and then the 5 ball (key ball) in the side with a stop stop which leads up to classic break shot. Or if you are not straight on the 5, you can follow down table slightly or even by coming off the rail depending on what side of the 5 that you are on..

LOL...... I got the table back wards. How about the 10 ball in the corner coming off the rail. Shooting the ball down the table in the corner getting on the 5 ball in the same corner as the 10 ball with a stop shot. Leaving the ball in the center as a side pocket break shot.

Side Pocket Break Shots

how do you hit that breakshot if you hit lets say around the middle of the side rack.

It is best to always aim on hitting the two head balls. Many times, if you hit the side of the rack it will be a scratch in the corner pockets. If the angle is where I have no chance in hitting the head balls, I try to catch the tail end of the rack. If I am at the distance of the cue ball & break ball in the photo and if I know that I am going to hit the center or a little above center of the side rack. I will use a center hit. Scratches still do take place but I have a better % of not scratching with using a center hit. That is a good shot to practice b/c not everyone's stroke is the same. Another type of English might work better for each individual. There are times when the break ball & cue ball are closer and more to one side of the rack. Then it is best to use a Follow stroke on the cue ball and drive the cue ball threw the rack. I like that type of side pocket break more then a higher one.
Another thing not to forget. Is when you are running a rack and you have a ball right at the side pocket on the high side. If there are no other good break balls to set up on. Try to run what ever balls that there are leaving a key ball in the rack area. Play a stop shot on that key ball and you will have ball in hand in the kitchen to set up on that side pocket break shot. You can put the cue ball on the rail right above that break ball and aim the hit for the two head balls.
Hope all this helps.

I need to go back and watch Bill's whole video and see what type of hit that he puts on the cue ball & where the cue ball makes contact with the rack. That is why watching all these posted videos are important. We all learn from them.
