Ok I know this has been discussed quite a bit on here and this is not going to be very popular but here is my opinion on the Diamonds I played on recently and maybe someone can tell me if these tables have just been done wrong and are not the norm or this is the way they are supposed to be.
The pockets were not only small at the openings which is fine by me but very trappy, they rejected balls that I thought were struck pretty good and hung them over the hole. There did not seem any way to play a power game on these tables, you had to leave more angle and use less pace and even then some balls were rejected that I thought were good.
The way the rails react is another area I found baffling, inconsistent bounces on hard shots sometimes taking quite a bit of speed out of the ball and huge bounces in softer shots. The rails also checked the ball to the point that I had no idea where I was going and seemed to come off no where near the natural angle.
I have not played on many Diamond 9ft tables only the BCA stuff with the 7' and I never liked those anyway because if the silly rails but figured it might be better on the 9's.
As reference for my experience I also recently played on some "Diamonized" GC's and loved them , thought they played very fair and natural.
