So, What is my least favorite tip on earth... A Hercules 2. what is my favorite tip on earth...The original Hercules!!! What tip did i just try and do not like at all... Yup a Kamui black medium.
I now understand why they invented a sticky gooey chalk. If you accidentally forget to chalk just one time you have a very good chance of miscuing.
I can (if i get lazy) not chalk my Hercules for five or ten shots and be forgiven. But even right after chalking this Kamui I have a hard time getting anywhere near the edge of the cue ball with out a miscue. It just slides right off. In short I will be cutting it off immediately.

I agree the kamui black med. needs chalk at least every other shot, but imo there is no better tip than kamui black , medium especially, and Ive tried alot of em..

Different strokes for different folks.......

I can't say I've ever had this problem. If I miscue, it's me getting lazy or cocky with my stroke. I absolutely love my black medium. I've also tried hards, but just a bit too hard for me. I'll be trying the soft next as I've heard tons of positive feedback.

That is what I normally say about miscuing as well. I can go weeks without a miscue. But this experience was not my stroke. I finally changed shafts when i couldn't take it any more.

Kamui medium tips seem a lot harder than most medium tips.
I agree with trying a soft, and some people I know are even using the black super soft.

I agree. They are not quite as hard as a Hercules medium, but they are pretty stiff for sure. I don't care for soft tips personally, So I have no problem with the hardness. They just don't bite onto the ball for sh*t.

BTW I found a cue locally you may or may not have an interest in. I'll p.m. you the details in a minute or two.

P.M. sent

I have used Kamui medium tips of my Blue Grass cues for the last few years and would never go back to anything else. I rarely chalk my tip and have played several racks of eightball and only needed to chalk once or twice with my trusty money green Masters. I love the hard hit and keep the radius pretty flat and have zero trouble juicing up the cue ball.

You must either be A.) using crappy chalk B.) using so much english it wouldn't matter how much chalk you use, or C:) have a crappy stroke! :)

I think it's more in the quality of what chalk you use than the tip.

Wouldn't you think! I really don't miscue often. In truth, almost never with the tips i normally play with. I am using blue diamond chalk. This thing was sliding off the ball left and right so I switched shafts and played just fine.

But I did say several times today "No wonder they came up with the gooey chalk! I geuss they had to do something!" I said this for a reason..Really.

I agree with Jayman. I use the Kamui soft, both black and brown, and the kamui black hard. Love 'em all. But, I tried the kamui black medium and don't like it. I don't know why, but there's just something about it that I really don't like.

I use Kamui black soft and I can't remember the last time I miscued. I do chalk up at least a little on every shot, but it's definitely more of a habit than because I need to.

I have played with brown and black and haven't had a problem with either one. I have never played with the medium, but the ones I have are perfect.

I got a Kamui black super soft from the SBE installed on a Z2... Hate to say it but it mushroomed with in a week..... Extremely disappointed.... I might give the Kamui black soft a try or just stick to Moori medium...

My black soft is probably 8 months old with many many games on it & it's never mushroom'd. I don't break with mine maybe that's why.

I wouldn't go cutting a $20 tip off without giving it a fair amount of break-in time. I'd play with it for a few weeks to see if it doesn't get better after some hard usage. I've had different brands of layered tips play better after a reasonable break-in period.

Got a Black SS on one of my shafts right now. Dont like it, its too mushy. Feels like playing with an Elkmaster. Im going to cut it off and try out the Soft next. I have played with le pros my whole life but lately it seems like the quality of the tips is so inconsistent, its a crapshoot and whether I will get a good tip or not. I need to get something consistent so I can forget about tips and get back to the business of trying to run out.

Perhaps I'm blind but is there a vendor section here to buy tips? I'd like to try a Kamui blask soft because a friend of mine just did and gave it a thumbs up. $19.95 per tip everywhere on line. Anyone see these cheaper even if just a quantity discount? Thanks guys, -James

The Kamui Black Soft is the nutz. After an extensive study I value it 12,3x better than the standard Everest on the Z shaft.

Lol. With the Dollar being so weak now, I paid 36$ for it in Germany.
