So I listed a few cues on eBay last week and a few of them sold. I just went to realist one and saw that my current balance due was over $160! The cues sold for a combined $1450 and I have to give eBay that much?

Well that prompted me to look at the current selling schedule and low and behold, they get a WOPPING 9% for a final value fee now. That's just a f*cking ripoff.

Oh well, I guess t hey just lost another seller because after this I'm not doing anymore selling.

??? they get 9%?? I will have to say that is an impressive fee. Do u pay if they don't sell? John

You do get charged a listing fee but note the 9% final value fee. I just contacted eBay customer support and ey could have cared less.

Whatever, I'm done with eBay.

Ebay used to be great years ago, but between the rampant bid sniping programs, the fees, etc...haven't used it in forever. Rather do craigslist for buying!

I agree, eBay has become very bad for sellers. 9% is just too high not to mention there very bad policies geared towards the buyers.

I used to use eBay all the time. Now I use Craigslist and will never go back to FleaBay.

WTF, Ebay is getting worse every year. I quit selling stuff on there 2 years ago because the customer service sucked. They are rapping people at 9%. I think they are going to lose alot of customers this year....

I've pretty much quit selling on eBay. Can't make any money with the fees they charge.

Hence why I now use craiglist to buy and sell. No fees. No shipping. Less of a chance of being ripped off. We meet at a public spot. Check out the merchandise. You exchange...shake hands and go on your way. No fees... No bullshit!

Yep. That's how I get my hookers too bro.

eBay was up to 9% of the selling price. Now, they charge 9% of the total, including the shipping cost!

Also, since ebay has bought Paypal, and Paypal gets 3%, you end up being charged 12% of the total cost of the item and the shipping!

When I used to be into baseball cards and before Vbulletin type boards, the guys who suscribed to the newsgroup would run auctions in threads. I am surprised that no one has tried to do that here. It worked really well for selling items. Bids would have to be posted in the thread, etc...

That is BRILLIANT! I may just try that for my Josswest!

Be warned the pitfalls are many...

Reserves are tough because it is an imaginary number (unverifiable).. better off starting the bid within reason of your reserve.

Shill bidding.. you have to maintain an honor system, no bidding under another screen name or having friends "bump" it.. that is what makes auctioning tough.

Good luck.

Wow. That's huge and total gouging. I hope eBay goes down in flames now.

Hasn't anyone came up with a decent auction site for billiards related items? Maybe it's something AZ should consider.

Ebay needs some competition. They get you coming and going, and down the road. All fees are paid by the seller. By the time you pay the... listing fee... final value fee...and paypal fee, you are looking at about 15%. This is Highway Robbery and ebay needs to be taught a lesson.:(
