Sweet!!! As I said, I believe the Pro hard as the best and the cost are very reasonable compared to many other layered tips. I used to order them 200 at a time directly about twice a year.

When someone comes to me to ask about a new tip I will ask them "Do you know what you want?" The most common reply has been "What are my choices?" So I tell them there are H, M, S solid or layered tips. And I ask, "Do you break with your playing stick or have a break stick?" "Oh, I didn't know there are so many choices. What do you recommend?" is the common response.

So usually I have played with/against these guys (or at least watched them) and based on the way they play I will recommend something. My most common recommendation is an Emerald. These are mostly league players wanting to improve their English and draw while maintaining accuracy on the long shots. The Emerald has been very popular and is the tip I personally keep going back to.

I keep the following in small quantities:

Break tips: WB, White Diamond, Black Widow, Samsara

Solid tips: Le Pro, ElkMaster, cheap no names, Wizard, Pressed Triangles

Layered Tips: Emerald, Moori M, Talisman

But like I said, the transition going from this forum, where lots of guys have very precise requirements to "I didn't know there are so many choices" out in the real world has been interesting.

I've probably put on at least 2000 of them in the past as I thought the Pro hard was the best tip that I ever played with and put them on the cues that I built plus pushed them in the shop but the delaminating got so bad that I started telling everyone to quit using them. Last year I read somewhere that Tony said that he was using a different type of glue but I've put on so few since then that I don't know if they've improved or not.

I haven't had any people come back and complain about the talismans delaminating although I have heard the horror stories. All Talismans that I have installed are from Last November to now.

I get this a lot as well. League players don't want to shell out the cash for a Kamui because they say they are not that level of player. My $10 le pros, triangles, and elk masters are usually the tip of choice if they don't know what they want. They purchased their cue with no idea of what kind of tip was on it and it worked for them. It's hard to promote layered tips to players who do not have a solid stroke.
 
I stock Triangle, Super Pro, Kamui Black M & SS, Hurano M, Moori III M, Hercules, and Porper Majestic tips. The Hercules H2 is a decent tip. The Porper is as good as the Moori tips I've used at 3/4 of the price. We have some league players here who spent the dough (before I got into the repair business) for Kamui Black tips and swear they don't even have to hit the ball off center to get the spin they want. (?) I'd love to sell them all expensive tips, but I just can't honestly recommend one when they can't even reliably draw the cue ball half a table length.
