I never thought I would have to post one of these threads. Maybe, this is a little premature however it seems like the seller is trying to pull a fast one. I agreed to buy a Lomax jump break cue from another Az'er. When I recieved the cue, I noticed a warp in the shaft. So I contacted the seller and He said ok, return the cue and I will send your money back. However, I just got a pm accusing me of sanding the shaft and he doesnt know how to handle this. I never sanded the shaft. The shaft was warped upon receipt.
I have filed a paypal dispute, besides a public shaming. Is there any other way to get my money back?

Thanks in advance.

If you back your paypal up with a credit card, you can file a claim with them. This is the fastest way, let the credit card company deal with paypal and the seller. I hope you and the other party can resolve this without the need for a filed claim. Best of luck......

I paid for it with paypal credit.I am hoping for a quick resoultion as well. However, it went from send the cue back, I will return your money to why did you sand the cue, I dont know how to handle this. I never sanded the cue. I never sand any of my cues. So to me he seems like he launched a pre emptive attack to not refund my money, so I have taken the steps to get it back via paypal and taking to my fellow Az'ers.

You did not contact me,I contacted you 2 days after you recieved cue wondering why I had not heard anything from you.You said finish was coming off and shaft was warped.I had looked at cue just before shipping and noticed a very small area that did show more light under shaft when rolled(about 1" long about .01-.015),and I should have told you before shipping, but I was willing to stand behind the cue. That is why I told you I was willing to refund your money. When I recieved cue back I immediately noticed shaft was now silky smooth (burnished) and when rolled on table light shows enire length of taper.I could not even sell this on Ebay in present condition.I am willing to work out some kind of resolution even though I feel that the cue should now be yours.

Yes, you did contact me. I told you I had went out of town for work. I also advised you the cue was warped.I did not burnish the cue and when is burnishing a negative? The cue was not straight. Again I am requesting a full refund. I will not make a deal per your pm's.

So you admitted the shaft was not straight before shipping but you never disclosed it? Now you are fighting me on getting all of my money back yet you say you stand behind the cue?

You may need proof in the form of pictures or other forms to confirm everything...other than this and trying to work it out in PM's, I don't know what else you can do.....

I posted to the other thread, I am glad you have responded like I said there are certainly two sides to every story.

I hope things work out for you / seller and that the party who is not being honest is exposed.

Take Care

as high as the humidity has been here lately, the shaft could have gotten worse in transit.

All I want is my money back. You can keep the $25 over the asking price that I sent you for quicker shipping. So $450 in my paypal account , tonyking73@aol.com will end this whole fiasco.

You know I had a similar situation where I sold a cue where the buyer wasnt happy, and you know how long it took for him to get his money back? Within a hour he had his money back.

So stand by your word and refund my money.

I will refund tommorrow and chalk this up for experience.Maybe it is just the humidity as I had it in a house with a dehumidifier running constantly.

Fyi, I shipped a 100% new shaft from Washington St. to Florida a while back (winter). When it arrived in Florida it had a 1 " warp that occurred during shipping. Who knows if it was the packing or the weather change, but this stuff happens.

If you recieved the cue in this condition I sincerely appologize as it was not even close to this when I shipped it.Looking from you point of view I would be as mad recieving a cue in this condition after having been told it was straight as I am getting it back in this condition.

Do the right thing and give the man his refund.

Agreed. I purchased a jump cue from the seller recently and it was as described (perfect) and arrived within two days.

Kudos for stepping up, Jerry. That goes a long way here.

The man just said he will be getting the refund tomorrow about 20 minutes before you posted.

Props to the seller for taking responsibility.

I applaud your decision, I think that you made the right choice without any doubt. I am very glad to see honesty in the Wanted / for Sale Section, with all the bullshit that has been going on lately this is an example others need to pay attention to.

Mistakes happen and there is nothing we can do to prevent them, it's Murphy's law. However, how we handle mistakes is all that is important, because it defines us as people and directly reflects on how others perceive us.

Have a great night!

Good deal on getting this all worked out. In the long run, it will help you more than the money you are now out. Respect can't be bought or sold, just earned or lost.

Personaly, I returned money for a cue bought based on the buyer's dislike of how the cue hit. I didn't argue, post anything up, I just returned his money BEFORE I responded to his PM. That way, all I had to tell the man was to send the cue back and his money was sitting in his paypal acct.

Life is too short for you to not be happy witih what you buy. Just move on to the next person that may be interested in what you are selling. If it was a good deal to begin with, somebody will buy it.

I agree life is to short,my girlfriend of 10 years is battling breast cancer. Her type only 5% survive. This is her 2nd time coming down with it.She has lost her mother, father, and sister from cancer. She found a lump, had Dr. do test on it,it was cancerous and they did nothing about it until the dr. moved to another clinic 1 year later and new dr. assigned her case discovered results. They have had to give her the strongest dosage (kemo & radiation)for the max amount of time. She now has to be tested every 3 mos.for 2 years to make sure it has not returned.First test came back clean, but now either her thyroid gland or heart has been damaged.I am just about financially maxed and that is why I have not returned money sooner.Sorry, just looking for a little understanding.

Manwon's post says it all. I'm glad that this disagreement was handled so well.
