Can a tip be removed and saved to be transferred to another shaft? Trying to save a black soft from a retired cue to a new cue. Doggone things are so expensive. Two tip guys said maybe but it's difficult. Those Kamui are so thick anyway. Also there are some gourmet, soaked in milk, pressed and chosen best of the litter tips advertised here on az. Will these gourmet tips come close to playing like a Kamui soft?

The guys you asked are correct. Yes, Kamui's are expensive, the last 10 that customers supplied split right in half, I won't even stock them. Blue diamonds and Triangles are still not broke so I stock those. Moori soft tips are still running firm but they stay together.

This is another advantage of my cue tip system.
 
I have a customer who has a standing order with me to save old tips from other peoples cues and use them instead of new ones when I re-tip his cue. He still pays for a full new tip install but loves the feel of a pre-bedded in tip. This is UK pool we're talking about and he uses a 7mm tip so it's quite easy for me to use a standard 9 or 10mm tip from someone elses cue that still has a bit of meat on and can be salvaged. He insists on it to the point that he'll wait until i have one before he has it done.

Just slice the old tip off and sand the back like a new tip. Of course it's easier if your using the old tip on a new smaller diameter ferrule.
