I looked online and found two pool halls, one is Rack'em up in Buffalo Grove and the other one is Quentin Corner Pocket in Palatine.
Has anyone played in either of these pool halls? Do they have a weekly 8 ball tournament going on now? I will be in the area for a while and would like to shoot some in the tourney.
Checked their website but not much useful information.

Main Street Billiards in Algonquin has a Friday night tournament.
Contact scdiveteam on az. He owns it and can give you the info.
 
Thank you for the heads up. They might be too far from where I live but I will see if I can check them out on weekends.:cool:

Hmm

Rack'em Up Chicago in Buffalo Grove is a nice place. They have Olhausens and Gabriels. Kind of a neighborhood pool room feel. Nothing fancy, but nice tables, cold beer and friendly folks.


Call the owner, Will, at 847.541.2500, and tell him RJ sent you. He will help you out any tourneys. Plus, he can play a "little" if you are looking for some good players to play with while in the area. He likes to play customers (no gambling) while he is working...... keeps him in stroke...

There is a big tourney at Bay Billiards this weekend.... google them for more info.


Plus, Nick Varner and Buddy Hall are going to be at Pyramid Club in Addison (NW) on Tuesday at noon for pool school (4 hours) and at 7:00pm for an exhibition of trick shots, pool strategy, road stories and challenge matches with audience.
 
I went to Rack'em up with a friend and played for about 2 hours there. The tables are very good and well maintained. The food is below average but they did mention I can order from nearby places if I like.

My friend knows Will and they briefly chatted on our way out. He said I'm a good shoot :p but I know I'm not. It's a good pool hall and I think it will be my regular place to go to.
