I noticed that, at this moment, in the thread asking "Should PocketPoint Be Banned?", there are approx 54% who responded no, do not ban him.

PocketPoint has taken this to mean, or perhaps more accurately, he is trying to tell us that this means, those 54% actually agree with what he puts out here on AZ.

I think this new poll will be more reflective as to whether forum members actually feel the info he provides is considered to have any real value.

So let's see.

Some of his posts are asinine and some make a few people think "hmmmm".
So to be honest, your poll should possibly allow multiple choices.

I did not vote in the other thread because it's not my place to decide whether or not he should be banned. He does not attack anyone in his threads nor does he come across rude or threatening.

BUT.... I find his posts extremely annoying but I can simply avoid all of his threads which I now do.. The ignore feature is quite handy too!! :)

Do you mean more than the three choices I did give?

Pocketpoint now = the most popular AZer.

pocketpoint = attention whore

Itsnotme = PocketPoint's "super special secret back door pal"

for your info:
A famous person or deed is widely known and is usually good or praiseworthy: We saw a film about Captain Scott, the famous explorer. An infamous person or deed is widely known and is bad or to be deplored: We saw a film about the infamous king Richard III.

I won't vote in this because the poll is poorly worded. It looks like it's, in fact, designed to make him look bad. Put up a real poll and I'll vote.

I voted even though I would of liked to see it worded differently.
KC could of added annoying, creepy, and a very manipulative child.

RB;

Please tell me what exactly it is that you feel was "designed to make him look bad".

I sincerely think the 3 choices are straightforward and fair.

I think they were offended because you put the least flattering option first. They probably didn't read the other two.

Anyway I don't think they should ban him, I think they just shouldn't let him start new threads. If his posts were longer than 4 lines, and consisted of ideas with supporting arguments, they wouldn't be useless. He'd still be wrong, he just wouldn't seem as asinine. My only problem with him is that he makes statements he can't defend, which he doesn't even bother to try, and he gets to do this in brand new threads so he can complain about the other threads where people are lambasting him.

Perhaps they could alter the forum setup so that you have to have some certain rep (or cred or whatever it is the kids call it these days) before you can create a new thread. I don't know, that probably wouldn't work, either.

It's the forum members, not Pocketpoint

I don't agree with his points, but his posts do incite good discussions.

Most of the threads he starts are inflammatory in nature. The reason that they turn into good discussions is because the good members of this forum take them in that direction.

Pocketpoint's next thread could simply be titled, "Hey, I'm starting another thread". The members of this forum would eventually even turn that thread into a good discussion about something.

hmmm

It's a freaking landslide. I mean, Reagan didn't win by this much (popular vote) when he ran against Mondale. Reagan took 49 out of 50 states. Mondale took Minnesota, barely, as that was his home state afterall.

So, basically, this polls tell us that folks dislike pocket puss a freaking lot more than they disliked Mondale. I heard Mondale's down fall was ridiculous threads he started on "LeftyPolitics.com "

I think his posts are designed to generate board activity by any means.

I fail to believe he even states his true opinion about things, he just makes outlandish statements to get people fired up.

If that is incorrect, he is then simply an idiot. :grin:

He basicaly said in an earler post he doesn't know anything about pool and is a weak player so why would one give any respect to his opinions? He chooses to repesent himself as the village idiot to get attention here and was entertaining enough for a few posts but has shown himself as lacking in any knowledge of the game what so ever. There is one like him in any bar you go to and you solve the problem by moving down a few stools and hope they don't follow. Case closed.
