I bought three 314 first generation shafts with the understanding that they would fit my Joss. I currently play with a 314-2 and it fits perfectly- snug- . The three shafts I purchased were originally for Jacobys but I was told they would fit my Joss (5-X16 X 14_. They screw on all right but do not get snug and have about a 1/4 inch gap between the butt and shaft.
Is it all right to play with them like that even though it looks kind of ridiculous ? Any help from you guys would be appreciated, I spent almost $400 for these shafts. Thanks,

No, it is not all right....you could split the shaft, bend your pin and dog up the threads or break the cue at the joint.

It is an easy fix by a cue repair person, however. The brass insert in the shafts need to be changed out to fit your cue. Sounds like the Jacoby shafts had a different pin...somewhat strange, though. I would have thought they would have fit, too.

sounds like the 314 shafts for the jacoby were custom fitted with a larger pilot on the insert. Any knowledgeable cue repair person should be able to either grind the pilot down or to completely change it out

My Jacoby shafts have a larger pilot and wont fit on my Joss
