Will GCI's slates fit on a GCIII ? Are GCI's good slates? I thought they were brownstone or something?

I may have a line on GCI slates to fit my GCIII table. I now have a GCII with 1 Brunswick slate and 2 "other" slates. (Long story)

I have a mechanic that says they're good and they fit. What price would you think they're worth? Next what would be a price good install price, with new simonis cloth? Since the cloth is new I may just replace the slates using existing cloth. Gorina Balsat (-sp)

Advice men!

Will GCI's slates fit on a GCIII ? I have about $3500 in this table now. Intercontinental Cushions installed by RKC. Wondering if it would be worth the trouble?

The table would probably be worth more than the way it stands with 1 brunswick and two other slates. Now a table with rail work done by RKC and 3 matching GCI slates? Diamiondized... I mean re-mediated by Glen and team!

what are you trying to gain. tighter pockets and a deeper shelf get new slates made thicker and custom shelf by diamond cost call themprabably a thousand with shipping as a rough guess..

If your just trying to get pinned slates for abetter seam match then if there cheap no cracks or blow outs go for it but check to see how they were stored. might check thedm with a straight edge for flatness.

older may not be better all the time..

If the slate is flat with no major issues at seams i would say 250 is the highest. You can go brand new slate for about 400-450 from steve lunsford in fl. 1" brazilian with the brunswick pattern. Keep in mind though the installation of the slate is crucial to how the table plays.

Thank you

Hey I appreciate both your feed back. In researching here online, some people liked the brunstone better than the slate. I should just be happy with what I have i guess.

The pockets are tight as a tick. Again RCK came in and did and excellent rail job. all pockets are 4 1/2. I'm good with that. I was looking at resale value regarding current slates not matching. The guy i'm working with has a slew of GCI slates. He may shoot me a deal.

If the slates dont match then you need to remove pins or place thicker shims under the thiner slate. make all new backer boards to make the 3 slates the same but pins might still be off...
