This is strictly about being paid . The ABP wants the prize fund guaranteed ahead of time !I'll try a couple. Is the boycott a certainty for this year, or is there room for negotiations. Any comment on future U.S. Opens? Does ABP have any plans for a new men's tour. Thanks.
Did the ABP discuss long and hard the risk of the US Open becoming no more as a direct result of a boycott and how that would hurt the players?
Actually, the longest continuously running tournament is the All-Japan which has been held every year from 1967 to present (from 1967 to 1969 14.1 and from 1970 to present 9 ball). The US Open is probably the longest running tournament in the US, though.
The Event was not a Pro event ! We also knew we were gonna get paid ! Also out of respect for the late Richard Sweet who was also part owner of Marietta Billiard Club !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Mr Putnam, if the ABP is about guaranteed minimum added monies of 25K, seeding of events and money in escrow up front why did you and Mr Archer play in a local event in Atlanta at Mr Cues last week that had none of these?

What kind of message did that send about the strength and willpower of this organization?
I have 1 additional question. Has the ABP discussed starting a tour themselves and is there anything in the works for this?
Every player that was on that list knew of the position we were taking !Were all the players listed on the boycott aware of the boycott and that their names would be included in the press release?
AbsolutelyShawn,
I am positive that nobody wants to see the end of the US Open - However, If there is a complete breakdown in communication, and a majority of the ABP players do not attend the US Open this year, will the ABP Board of Directors and their attorneys continue to work towards a solution with Barry Behrman?

By the way , all of the people posting about these topics know who we are .
Please give us the same respect and write your full name after your quotes !
Imagine working at your job and your boss comes to you and says there is no money to pay you . Will you go back to work there ?When I look at the risk vs reward for the players I see millions of dollars in prize money being risked if the us open dissolved vs the reward which is peace of mind and maybe 99.9% of the players getting paid bumped up to 100%.
The logic seems off to me. What am I missing?

We are here now to answer questions because we know that all the facts are not out there !Pretty much all of the players on the ABP list never interact with this forum.their are members of this forum that play at different levels and would jump at the chance for discussion with top players.these banger's need your support and interaction.but they don't get it from you.now the ABP comes to this board with a problem between ABP and a promoter looking for support.what's up with that?
