ABP boycotts Berhman's event

So at the end of the day all this *****ing solves ZERO, much like your influence on pool. ZERO. Frankly as I write this I am wondering why am I wasting my time writing any of this, people you will probably skip over the fruit of my post, and skip to the end, and think to yourself, "this guy is an idiot, I know I am special, and I mean something to the pool world" Well sir, no, no you don't. So unless you are going to change anything, shut up. Sit there, and watch some pool and try and learn something.

I just want to tell you exactly the same thing as what Im going to post to several other gentlemen in this forum that i may have offended.

Its easy to act like an ass siting behind the screen letting our fingers do the talking, and I apologize for letting my passion turn into petty insults and thoughtless cheap shots.

So I say to you all, I am sorry for coming off as an ass. i just want to see the players get paid in a timely manner, and the tradition and passion of pool move on for us fans.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but what value does the ABP add to 'pool'/ tourneys, promoters?

Is it just their appearance at the event? If so, is there a guaranteed #of ABP reps?

I did ask this questioin. No response, but I would venture a guess;

The ABP will just 'show up'. No guarantees

Sean....I hope you have a lot more to say on this topic.
You're one of my favorite posters.....
....even though I hate call-shot 10-ball...:cool:

Hey there, pt! Apologies I'm seeing this only now. Thanks for the kind words.

As for call-shot 10-ball, isn't that kind of redundant? I mean 10-ball is call-shot, so calling the game "call-shot 10-ball" is like you're saying that you're putting a new set of "friction brakes" on your car. :p

Seriously, though, thanks for the kind words. I'll keep posting. As for thoughts on this particular topic (ABP vs. Barry Behrman), unfortunately, at this late time in this (and other threads on the topic), I might now be a whisper among the cacophony of voices on this topic. If it means anything still, I'm in favor of Barry Behrman. I've known the man too long (since the mid-1980s, when I used to hang out and literally sleep in Q-Masters when I was off-duty in the Navy (Norfolk). The ABP pointed its rifle at the WRONG man to make an example of. I think this will effectively put a huge damper on pool in the U.S. if the boycott isn't resolved.

If it's true that Appleton is playing and other pros begin to express their intention to play, it is a pretty good bet the ABP will lift the ban so it doesn't look like they are coming apart at the seams or are otherwise impotent.

If they have already canvassed their members and know that many intend to play there may be an orchestrated plan for the members to hold off entering until the ABP announces the end of the boycott. Until they do it makes me wonder just how many are really planning to play. Until we see a paid entry list, it is only rumor.

It'd be an interesting scenario if a ton of amateurs, figuring that without all the pros in the event they have a good shot, rush to enter and they fill the field before this gets resolved.
