What is going on?

On my follow through I tend to steer or veer to the left. I just cant quite figure it out. Ive change my stance and grip but it seems to still want to veer. I am left eye dominant but shoot righty and have attributed it somewhat to this but there are times that I deliver the cue straight down the line. A slightly pronated wrist seems to help and things are getting better but I am wondering if it is now a matter of retraining the muscle memory. Any advice?

It is difficult to diagnose without seeing it.

A laser light, hole reinforcers and a video camera will help. Set up a shot along a straight line with the laser light, use the hole reinforcers to mark the cue ball and object ball location, video your stroke from several angles (including down the line of the shot)

You will be able to see if your shoulder or grip is getting into play causing the veering.

Post the video's if you can so we can have a look and comment.

Good Luck.

I would say that it's a 90% possibility that it's an alignment issue.

Try to adjust your feet to face your cue stick a little more. Then lean your body over the line of the shot and get your left eye closer to the line of the shot. This is a common fix for this issue. It may feel awkward at first but change sometimes does make us feel awkward. it will prevent you from aligning your shot from right to left like you are doing. Alignment issues with cross-dominant eyes are common. Good luck and hang in there!

Another thing you may look at is your elbow. Is it too close to you body? Being too close may cause you to stroke across the shot line.

If posting a video isn't possible, you might want to visit an instructor. They should be able to immediately diagnose the issue and assist you in correcting it.

Here is a link to a brand new training invention that is designed to help overcome all the issues you describe, most issues can be picked up by a coach, but this cue can detect faults not visible by even the most discerning of coaches, check out the video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjNU7pQnwaI
and if you are interested in purchasing the cue please get back to me.
This cue has been endorsed now by many of the top snooker and pool players.
