I'm looking for a Tim Scruggs version of a Bushka Tribute cue that so many cuemakers seem to offer from time to time. I know that Richard Black makes a beautiful version, as does Dennis Searing & Ariel Carmelli, and I'm sure there are others as well (like Steve Klein etc). I've found some Richard Black Bushkas but they tend to be a bit too too heavy of a cue at the mid 20oz range and I prefer to play with (around 19 19-5 oz range).

So....if anyone happens to have such a cue, or knows soemone that wants to sell their Scruggs Bushka Tribute Cue, please steer them to me via AZ or even my personal e-mail account (matthew.m.brennan@comcast.net)....Thanks....Matt

Thank You To Those That Have Contacted Me.

Thank you to those readers that contacted me about my search for what seems like has turned into "The Golden Fleece." I very much appreciate the interest and thoughtfulness of those that have replied to my WTB Posting for a Tim Scruggs Bushka Tribute Cue. It's really kind of uplifting to see others that don't even know me, have little to seemingly gain by simply referring me to others that might be able to assist me locating this cue.

It's really all about simply taking the time to perform a friendly gesture and try to offer a helping hand when it's so temping and easy to say...I'll write something back to this Forum guy looking for that Scruggs cue later on.... and then never get around to actually doing it. Even if they meant to respond to my posting....things just seem to crop up unexpectedly for so many of us and distract us from getting around to it. At least that happens to me and so I imagine it does for others as well.

But please keep me in mind if you hear of any leads on this cue because I'm not going to give up....if Homer could find that freakin goatskin in the that book "The Iliad", then damn it I'm gonna locate me a Tim Scrugs Bushka Tribute Cue sooner or later.......I just hope I'm not too old to even hold it, let alone play with it, by the time I find that dag nabbit cue.

Okay...So Here's the Math

So far over a 100 readers have read my posting about the long sought after Tim Scruggs Balabushka Tribute cue I'm trying to buy. If anyone knows of a cue, or is kind enough to simply pass along my plea for assistance on locating this cue, I'd genuinely appreciate any help anyone can provide......Thanks

Thanks For The Suggestion

Thank you for the suggestion. I've thought about getting a cue made by someone else but it's not quite the same. Dennis Searing makes a beautiful Bushka design, as does Ariel Carmelli and even Steve Klein. I was thinking about buying the Klein Texas George that's for sale and it's a $1,000 less than a Scruggs will cost....but if I were going to settle for something else, I suppose it would have already happened.

I recently passed on two sales for Richard lack Bushka tributes (both were signed & dated cues) which were exactly the design I was looking for...both cues were just magnificent...but the Richard Black Bushka Tributes all seem to weigh in around 20.5 ozs which is at least 1 full oz heavier than I prefer to play with. I even tried hitting one and even though it had a great balance point, the RB just seemed a tad too heavy for my taste.

Based upon the responses I've gotten, there appears to be an ample supply of Scruggs cues available to choose from but the scarcity of one of Tim's actual Bushka Tribute cues is really depressing.....at least to a very interested buyer.

In all honesty. I have owned quite a few Tim Scruggs cues (some very fancy) and two Klein cues. And having a Steve Klein is not "settling". Actually Steve's cues hit much closer to a Bushka than does a Scruggs.

Try contacting Ken at Fourkingscues (AZ handle on the forum). He has one that has the maple windows/ebony butt sleev and an ivory (I believe it to be) joint. He is a good person to deal with...GL

Tahnks for the Replies

I have heard great things about Steve Klein cues but do not have any firsthand experince. I know Marcos Soltis thinks highly of his cues and Marcos really seems to have his act together when it comes to cues.
His Texas George might win out if I'm unsuccesful locating a cue.

I also reached out to Fourkingcues asking for any help in locating a Scruggs Bushka Tribute cue, or for that matter, any Scruggs four pointer with mutli-veneers and matching mop or ivory inlays in the forearm and butt sleeve.

I'm going to continue my search efforts until 9-11 since it's an easy date to remember. At that point, if I still have located a Scruggs Bushka design cue, I'm buying smething from another cue maker. I've been looking for the Scruggs since May and just missed some cues Nick_Serdula had for sale earlier this year that seemed to fit my requirements. Maybe good fortune will return in the hopefully not too distant future.

Aha...now I know why I see bump it to the top so much.....

Bump It To The Top......thanks to everyone that's offered me suggestions, persons to try contacting and cues....but alas, no Scruggs Bushka designs...at least not yet....been looking for the past two months....guess I have to be more patient.

BUT ANY HELP IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.....

Folks...Time To Chck Your Closet Again

The weekend is here and still not much of a lead on a Scruggs Bushka Tribute Cue or any others for that matter. Several cues have been offerred but none of these cues really had the traditional Bushka Tribute cue design all of the top cuemakers used (Black, Mottey, Scruggs, Bender, Carmeli, Tascarella, Kelin, etc.).

Sooo....AZ Forum Readers....if you see your buddies over the weekend, I'd appreciuate your mentioning my search....someone out there has got one they're probably not even playing with that's sitting in the closet not getting used very much. They haven't read my forum posting yet or haven't given much thought to selling their cue....maybe this will wake them up.....

WANNA SELL YOUR TIM SCRUGGS BUSHKA TRIBUTE CUE????????

WANNA SELL ANY BUSHKA TRIBUTE CUE YOU MIGHT HAVE????????

WANNA SPREAD THE WORD THERE'S AN EAGER BUYER ON AZ NOW??????

$50 Bounty ..... Original Scruggs Bushka Tribute Cue

I'll pay $50 to anyone that hooks me up with someone willing to sell an original Scruggs Bushka Tribute Cue if the sale goes through....I need to encourage, inspire, motivate the AZ network of readers to start shaking the bushes because I'm at a complete loss on what to even attempt next....contacted every prominent cue dealer, written to over 35 people and searched on every pool auction site imaginable.....I've found several but the listings are written in Japanese since that's where these Scruggs Bushka cues I'm found were located.

$50 to anyone that hooks me up with a seller and the deal goes through....Note: the offer only applies to an original Tim Scruggs Bushka Tribute Cue and not any other cuemaker or any other Scruggs cue...just his Bushka Tribute Cue. No bounty paid on any other cues. Thanks.

my buddy has one....i will ask him if he wants to sell.....it was posted originaly by hidyho last year sometimes....

I've seen your posting but really don't recall any PM after the last one I sent you. You have a lot invested in thsi cue and I think I gave you my take on what I think a Scruggs four pointer would sell fro and if you've got $1800 invested in this cue, sans purchase price, I'm not able to make you an offer that would ahve any appeal....you'd be too upside down.

I have my heart set on a genuine Bushka Tribute cue by Tim Scruggs and there's one now listed in the wanted to sell section....problem is it's not an original Bushka Tribute cue...it's another four pointer with some inlay only in the butt. Original Bushka Tribute cues made by the better known cue makers like Scruggs, Tascarell, Searing, Black, Bender, Mottey...there's lots of them....all look the same...veneer color may differ....the inlay in both the forearm and butt sleeve may differ from one cue maker to another....but all of the Bushka Tributes have identical matching inlays made of mop, ivory or even abalone in the forearm prongs and the butt sleeve.

That's what I'm after and with regard to your cue, I'm not able to make an offer to cover your investment of $1800....4 pointers, even Scruggs, don't command much more than that the way the market is....not saying it's right....not even suggesting someone should sell their cue for less than what they might otherwise want or expect....it's just that this market doesn't support full price sales. Now I'll probably have to make an exceptiuon if I find an original Scruggs "genuine" Bushka Tribute cue but that's because of scarcity and I'm just getting tired of searching.

Here ya go! I was at Tim and Mikes shop one time when he introduced me to this guy. If Lucky doesn't have it, you're probably gonna be up the creek.

Be ready to spend some cashola. One Lucky has on there now is 483000 yen and according to the great google, that's 6109.27 US dollars. They obviously bring more money there...

Whats Tim's wait list like these days? I would just have him make me one.

I don't believe Timmy's taking new orders. The person to get ahold of would be Nick Serdula here on the forum.

WHAT AN ASS I AM.....I owe a big apology to Willy_Banks who an absolutelya sweetheart of a forum member.....I answered his simple inquiry thinking I had clicked on a private reply (PM) but either my mind slipped or something happened cuz it posted to the forum.

My remarks were really intended for a 1 on 1 dialogue because he knows that if I don't eventually find a real Bushka Tribute cue by Scruggs, I'm going to buy one of Scruggs' four point cues and he admittedly has a handsome one too. It looks sparkling clean and the veneers are really sharp but when you're on a search for what has become the impossible dream, it's just hard to quit because ou're always thinking maybe I should have given it one more day....and you know you're going to keep checking even if you buy another cue,,,,aand then beat yourself up over quitting the search too soon....someone told me this could take years......well, I'll quit before then////I'm stubborn but i'm not the village idiot either.

Willy_Banks, please excuse the inept expression of comments that were intended for your eyes only but because I'm such a jerk....Nuf Sed 'Bout My Stupidity...I hope you understand.

Lucky's Website....WOW!!!!!!!!!!

Now that's just about the prettiest darn Bushka Tributes cues perhaps ever made by anyone anytime anywhere....like forever.

OH MY GOSH.....any of them...anyof them....are so gorgeous....now that's the freakin BUshka design I keep hammerin' at with sellers offerring cues they think are Bushka Tributes. Yes, any four prong muti-veneer forearm design can be referred to correctly as a "Bushka" design......but a Bushka Tribute is supposed be the cuemaker's best interpretation of the classic look which obviously the cues on Lucky's website were.....SPECTACULAR.....Dare I ever give up my search.....I hope not.....it's going on 3 months now and maybe the guy that told me years wasn't kidding...it would be worth the wait and effort to own such a fabulous looking cue....at least in my opinion.....Matt
