That will be on sweet looking cue! That TS cue has always been one of my favorites!!!

6 pointer

As always, it is interesting to the the beauty of materials for cues turned down before finishing, tight veneer work, pockets for inlays, and just great quality work.

I didnt know permision was needed to make a cue similar to a cue, and if it was to be an exact copy like many other tribute cues out there I wasnt aware of any copyrights on pool cues. If Tim was still in business I would have asked him to make it for me, but thats not the case. I showed Leon a photo of this cue and said can you make something "LIKE" this, end of story. Scruggs cue has 40 inlays and the vaneers are natural and light blue, Leons cue will have 34 inlays and the vaneers are white and silver ( Not the same cue ). Thanks for the concerns but Im sure Tim can speak for him self if he has any problems.

Looks very nicely executed so far but I have a question Leon.

Did you get permission to copy/tribute this cue from Mr. Scruggs?

Thank you in advance,
Chris
Chris the cue that I'm building for Larry is not a copy to the scruggs there will be a Different style of inlay design of the spears and the veneer color is not the same...and the inlay work in the joint collars will be Different. Here's the inlay Design for the butt sleeve.

I really dont see how some people worry about things that are really none of their buisness. If a person wants a cue a certain way or a design it should be only the buisness of the cuemaker and the person that is buying the cue. Why is it that some people are only out to cause trouble or make issues out of something that should not concern them, ,,,ED

Lmfao

Leon that pc pic of the CNC design has me cracking up,,, you come along way from our previous Phone conversations. I'm glad all worked out for you with all this congrats.. It's like wal-Mart to NASA ;)

Thank you for the reply. I definitely see there is a difference in the inlays. My question came about because of your statement and you providing a link to Tim Scruggs website.

Speaking of worrying about something none of their business as you put it - my question was directed to LEON. Not you.

Here is how I see it ED, that would be blatant cue design theft. I only followed his statement:

HERE'S WHAT THE CUE WILL LOOK LIKE WHEN FINISHED

Get it?

I was not trying to cause any trouble at all. I asked the cuemaker a simple question. He answered it by posting his CAD design of the inlay. Obviuosly it is waaaaayyy different than the one Tim Scruggs designed.

I first posted "Nice Tribute" and then I thought about it. Does that bother you? Then I thought why would he post a direct link to another cue makers website and say:

HERE'S WHAT THE CUE WILL LOOK LIKE WHEN FINISHED

So on an open forum of my peers/fellow forum members an honest question. I wanted to know the moral compass of Leon Sly.

To me stealing someone else's design shows cowardice and a lack of artistic creativity. Anyone can just make a copy but a true artist creates...

Have I made myself clear to you, Ed.
