Deep Pockets in Alvin ,TX weekly tournaments.

Well Houston players in my opinion the Tuesday night 9 ball tournament at Deep Pockets is now the best weekly tournament in the Houston area if not the country. Jr. matches the pot from the entries and the calcutta pumped to over 800 dollars including the women's calcutta. 1st place paid 150 for entries and the men's calcutta paid 500 for first. If you got yourself in the auction and won that's not a bad pay day for a weekly tournament.

If there is a better offer anywhere I would interested to know about it. Junior is an owner that really wants to promote the game and provide the best tournaments, leagues and action possible.

So look at the flier and make plans to attend these tournaments you will have a good time.

Great place, great tables, and great owners.....
Did I forget to mention they have one of the greatest players in Houston as the house pro as well there? Dont ever let him slip thru the cracks in one of your players auctions.

I would keep an eye out for the " maintenance man" he is in action more than anyone else in there.

Just making a point here in that the 3 highest picks in the players meeting, not one of them finished in the top 3!!!!! Just goes to show a race to 3 on both sides alternating breaks gives players of all abilities a chance at winning a great weekly tournament!! A side note Charlie" hillbilly" Bryant squeaked out a win against me 3-0 in the first round and followed it up with a did not cash!! He went for the most in the players meeting.. Of course!! Better luck to you next time Charlie. Always nice to see the smile on a regulars face when the have a chance to play a professional win or lose. Hope to see everyone there next Tuesday.

This is the very reason why this tournament should not have less than 30 players in it on any given night. Short races on the box is a great equalizer. Other than having to go to work early or having to make a long drive I don't know why you wouldn't want to play in it.

Thanks for the update and will see you Thursday night.

It is a great place, great tournament, and I really think people who have been there are starting to go there more often which is great. I look forward to going to this pool hall every chance I get but right now just do not have alot of time. I hope everyone else keeps supporting JR he is doing all he can to make this pool hall catered to pool players not drinkers. (Drinkers are more than welcome to anytime do not get me wrong.) He just wants a nice place with great tables where pool players can come to and feel welcome to enjoy thereselves with great equipment and atmosphere. On top of all this the maintenance man has alot of gamble and is always willing to do something with anyone who makes the trip to his place to support it. I am glad for the turnouts because JR and his wife deserve it for all they do for pool!

This is for my buddy JR at deep pockets. He is trying to do good things for pool and has a beautiful place with all brand new tables. Go down there and try to support him folks.
