early december, my jewelry store very busy, i get a call from a customer that needs a tune up on the cue i made for him. i tell him o.k. but it will take a week or so. he sends me the cue. i do the tune-up and return the cue to the address on the box he sent the cue in.
fast forward to earlier this week, [ thats 8 months ] he sends me an email wanting to know if the cue is about done !!!!!!
i think i remember sending the cue back to him, but did i? i start looking at the pile of shipping receipts on my desk. i finally find the piece of paper with his instructions. at the bottom was a hand written address and his phone number. i also found the post office receipts for the shipping, insurance and delivery confirmation.
i call him and tell him that the cue had been delivered early in january, i tell him the date and the address. he then tells me that is not his address but a street about 5 blocks away.
he googles the address and finds out its the ups store from where he shipped the cue. he calls the store and they had the cue. they had kept the cue for 7 months.
taught me a very valuable lesson.

Live and learn! It seems as though every time I assume something, I don't care how evident it seems, I get burnt.
