BCA Hall of Famer Ray Martin is the only thing that comes to mind. But as far as I know he was only a player. A hell of a good one. Maybe he made a cue?

I think he still might be alive. He would be in his 80s if he was.

I cant figure out what it is....all I know is I am strangly attracked to this cue. How much do you want for it?

I need to try and find out more about it before I can put a price on it.

Thanks
Ron

I completely understand that!

By the way is the signature laqured over or is it on top of the finish? I'm really struggling to find out anything about this cue.

I think its a Pirate cue myself.
The signature says: R Maiti, doesn't it?

Ray Martin has had many signature lines of cues. They were made by other companies but marketed and sold by Ray. The ones I've seen have been affordable cues.

The signature on your cue is very close to his with the exception of the "M", which he may have changed over the years. For example, here's the back side of a
Palmer flyer with his cues showing his signature.

I think Ray posts on here - I don't recall his name. Scott Lee might know.

I know quite a bit about older cues...but Tate can give me the orange crush.

This explains the low-rent bumper screw.

Ray Martin posts as 'ghost ball'...seems to have over-looked cte...

Sent Ghost ball a PM.

Thanks

That cue does not look nearly old enough to come from the same era as that ad picture. One of the shafts is flat laminated also, when did the whole multi-piece shaft thing start? Neither of the shafts look played with much if at all. Unless it was stored in a storage chest since new maybe.

The Palmer ad is from 1980 or so. I agree this cue is much more recent. Ray sold a number of cues for a number of years. I just showed the ad to show his signature, which is similar to the one on the cue. He hopefully will chime in and let us know if it's one of his branded cues.
