Question about breaking down and moving an Olhausen model "York" 7 foot pool table. I was told it was bought in 2002. I think it has a three piece slate. On technical information would be appreciated.

The York does have 3 piece slate.

I don't know what other "technical" information you're looking for, but it is a pretty easy table to disassemble.

Take the pockets out, unbolt the rails and take them off. Separate them if necessary for space. Take the cloth off and unscrew the slate. Then the frame comes off the legs. Pretty easy table.

Thanks,
This potential project is something I have to do myself to keep it cost effective. I hear three piece slate and I get scared. :o Never done it before, but there's the first time for everthing.
Want to make sure I start dissassembling the table at the right place.

So the top rails with the cushions still attached comes off in one piece
(hollow rectangle), which can be broken down even further if necessary for shipping??

Yes, you understand correctly. Make sure yo uhave another person to help you take the rails off and flip them over or you can do some damage.

Once you have those off, if it's not obvious how to take them apart further, you should hire someone to do it.

As far as the 3-piece slate, if you're not confident leveling them, call a pro. Same thing with putting the cloth back on. Pool table cloth is expensive, so if you're not confident you can do it without making a bad cut, call a pro.

The good news though, that frame isn't built to come apart, so it's rigid enough to move in one piece, and the slate is light. (for slate) :D

Have fun with it!
