What has happened to the WPBA website?

What has happened to the WPBA website. It is out of date. I can't even find the current rankings of the players. There are no pictures of the players. Do they just no longer care about keeping their fans informed? Or do they just have no money to pay someone to do the job? Or am I looking at the wrong website? :(

What WPBA?

All tournaments were held at casinos before the economy tanked and all the other ways there are to gamble now= casinos went in the red=all eggs in one basket=bad biz plan.

Are you sure it's because the casinos dropped out? I thought it was because key billiard sponsors dropped out.

Yes, that too, but the casinos put up about 100k for each event I believe I was told a few years ago. Where are they going to find new venues that will put up that kind of bread?

The WPBA had a very nice run of top paying events for many years. I don't believe they will have those kind of purses (15k to winner, 8k for 2nd) anytime soon. Johnnyt

In my opinion, there's one person with the capital, star-power, industry connections, and knowledge to buy and run the WPBA--Jeanette Lee.

I don't see any negatives about letting her run the show and I think it is very likely it could be HUGE under her leadership.

She may not be interested because of politics, family, etc., but this is just my idea as an outsider.

They Will Pull Through This,...

They are in good hands. Times are tough for a lot of industries, but I know a few of those girls, and they are very intelligent women (as a group). They will pull through this. If they only have one event, then let's all go to the event to support it and spend some money at these venues. Stop all the internet feeds and give people a reason to drive down.

As for the website, I do agree. It has gone to hell lately. I would like to see some honesty and realism on the site to let the fans know what is going on. If the problem with Brunswick is central, then it is what it is. Just move on. I have a Brunswick GC 4 in my shop, and it is probably there because I watched the pros play on it on tv for years. If Brunswick drops sponsorship, they will eventually pay with a loss in market share. Someone else will take the market when it comes back around.
