well i'm in the air force and live in the Spokane Wa area. i'll be moving for the military this coming spring/summer to Whiteman AFB near Kansas City. i was wondering if anyone was in the need of a helper/apprentice or just willing to teach the skills of making a pool cue. if so i'm your man. any help is appreciated. thank you.

This was brought up before. Liability is huge for the maker and return is nil. If you REALLY want to learn on the fast track, there are a few makers that would teach you for a fee.
Otherwise, there is alot to be learned here simply by using the search function.

I am retired Army, I spent 23 years on active duty and retired in 2003. The best advice I can give you one soldier to another is start out small. Start doing repairs, IE tips, shaft cleaning, and anything else you can do with little or no equipment.
If that works out start buying wood and materials, that way if you change your mind at a later date you sell what you have bought and lose nothing.
