hey guys. just starting playing pool about 6 months ago. have an awesome local player helping me out. been on apa league 1 session. time to buy my first cue. tried many. like the luccasi hybrid with the 11.5 protaper shaft. what do you guys think about this cue? don't say anything about me being a beginner and don't need such an advance cue to play with and should stick with the 13 m shaft. i have the money now and only want to buy one cue and eventually would want the smaller shaft in the future to advance my english so why not learn with the 11.5 now instead of having to re learn it later. so what are the reviews on the lucasi hybrid?
 
ment 11.75 on the lucasi? and also i might have wrote the message wrong. i dont want the golf grip want the slim shaft on another butt. what is the best combo in the $300-400 dollar range?
 
First Cue

You can't go wrong with a Predator sneaky pete, plus the Lucasi shaft has the same joint as Predator. I see them going on here for less than 300 a lot, gl with your purchase

Firstly, you're a beginner, and there's no way that you're ready for the awesomeness of the Lucasi Hybrid. That would be like trying to teach a four year old how to shoot a shotgun.

Start out with something with a larger shaft, because this will strengthen your consistency...Thinner shafts should only be used by those who are at or near pro skill level.

Yes, you must play at least 20 - 30 years before you are good enough to pick up a Lucasi.

I'm no expert, but I also disagree with this statement. I definately like a thinner shaft over a thicker one, and am much more consistent on draw type shots with a thinner shaft.

Consider looking at the Mcdermott cues with G-core shafts. The basic ones can be had new for $208 on-line and come in many different shaft sizes.
 
Asking for advice & then stating what you want to hear is not really asking for advice.
