March 27, 2012: TO ALL 36,867 MEMBERS: Hold off going through all the trouble to do this: Ustream changed their format so nobody can get access to the stream list anymore. I sent them this and referenced it in two emails and on their FB page in hopes that things can be rectified. They immediately removed it from their FB page and I have been waiting thinking they would handle it by now; but .... nothing. :banghead::deadhorse:

You will have in minutes what took me hundreds and hundreds of hours to accumulate simply by following these two easy steps. You can see by my signature element (below) that the list is quite big. Once done, you will have immediate access to all the archived videos (see Step 2).

Step 1: Go to http://www.ustream.tv/user/cmbwsu/crowds, click on "all" the icons at the right on "each" page until a big check mark appears. (Check back from time-to-time for any new ones which will appear at top (under those that are live!). No need to go through all the pages again!)

Step 2: Go to your Dashboard by clicking your username at the top right of the page. Scroll down to the bottom right and click on "Live Now". If anyone is live streaming at the time you enter they will automatically appear there --> *BOOKMARK THIS PAGE! This is where the recorded "pool only" videos are as well (off to the left at the red dot) which are in the tens of thousands.

*Your dashboard is your live stream savior -- no need to guess the name of a particular show or broadcaster -- if it's live it will show up automatically! Streams from all over the world and in all disciplines! It's a nightmare when searching in a foreign language and I have already done that for you!

If you know of any stream on Ustream that is not on the list please let me know and I will add it. Special thanks to F@steddie for all the research he has done and passed on.

NOTE: Many of the streams on the list are not what you might call quality; however, with "our" support, encouragement, and positive attitude that can change. More and more are getting proficient and the quality of many are of TV quality .. that goes for commentary as well .. remember, "we" are dealing with family members here (members of the "Feltnation") that are just trying to get "our" sport out there.

Viewing Option #1 - Pop Out

Everyone knows how to use the full screen option and that when doing so the chat disappears so I won't go into that. This is the option that I personally use more often then not:

EDIT: That is supposed to say "pop out" but I ain't changing ... why(?) 'cause I don't wanna that's why.

Viewing Option #2 - Facebook

Have you ever noticed that more times then not there are more guests then people signed in? A good portion of those are copying the URL of the stream and pasting it on their Facebook walls, inviting others, and interacting from there. Instructors along with their students, bloggers, and writers like viewing this way as they can go back and reread the comments at a later date or jot down notes. In other words, it does not scroll off the screen or disappear when refreshing like at Ustream!

One word of caution -- once the comments start getting too long one must reload the page to condense things to still be able to see the screen. This does not erase previous comments; rather, it just compresses them and can be reviewed by clicking the "View all (insert # here) Comments" button just below the video and above the remaining comments! Some have been known to come back and a later day, open all the comments (as stated above) and taken screen shots rather than taking notes. Also, writers take notes while the stream is going match-by-match then copy/paste or take a screen shot as a draft to an article. Some even take screen shots of a particular player/particular shot in the match to insert in those articles! Some writers do not have time to take screen shots during the live stream due to note taking so they go back to the video once archived, stop it where they want, and take a screen shot that matches their comments exactly! Whatever works!

Viewing Option #3 - Two Streams at Once

This is for those who would like to watch two streams at once without having to open another window and slow their system down and prefer to watch in peace or interact with immediate friends (as in Option #2). Select the two streams you wish to watch. Copy the first one's URL then go to the second one and click the "share" button. Quickly go to your wall (before someone has time to post thereunder) and paste the URL in the "comment" immediately below the one you "shared" and voilà! Here is an example from my wall. I have reduced the size here! I have done as many as three when reducing the size!

NOTE: You can go full screen on Facebook; but, you will only be able to view one stream ... (before someone else says it, "No chit Sherlock")!

One of the things mentioned before is that there is a lot of clicking involved in being added to the 900+ crowds. I made it a less daunting task by doing it over 4 or 5 days. Bookmarked where I left off each day.

Thanks for all the work you have done on this Bob.

That's a good thing ... a growth indicator! I remember one time most everyone had the streams on what Ustream then called "Follow" vice "Crowds" ... all five or six of them . Thanks again F@eddie, and others, for helping get those numbers up there!

With your help, we now have over 1,000 (see signature element) :woot:

Well, as of today, we are at 1,069! If anyone knows of any stream on Ustream that is not on the list please let me know and I will add it.

A dozen (or so) new links have been added since my last post -- thanks in no small part to f@steddie!
