Watching a video of Shane in '07 and he doesn't look to be using a cuetec. Any idea what he was using?

BTW I'm just curious, for whatever reason, even in golf, I love to know what the pros play. I'm definitely an equipment guy!

I believe he used a Schon with a Joss shaft if I remember correctly.

I stole this from a post by BillPorter on 10/25/2007 - "I think we can be pretty sure by now that he used his mom's Schon (she said as much) with the same Joss shaft that he had on the cue Danny Janes made for him when he was about 11 years old."

I thought so too. Didn't Dan Janes give him that cue when he was kid?

Shanes Cue

I will just put it this way. This is not the first time this question has came up and not the first time that it has gotten a dozen different experts stating a dozen different answers. When he started playing with Cuetec he returned our cue to us as we sponsored him. Diveney Cues. He had me make the cue like a Joss joint so he could use his Joss shaft on it. But he never really ever quit playing with his Schon with the joss shaft. He used both cues now and then. But he used the Schon on a regular basis. Butterflycues

I can confirm!

It was in deed a schon with a joss shaft because while he was hanging around in the Austin area a couple years ago, He came down to the amateur tounament in waco. Big Truck brought him down to do an exhibition where you make a donation to the school of the deaf and you got a chance to play him a game of 9ball or 8 ball. The funny part of his cue was the shaft insert was a tad too big to recess into the joint and fit down in there as it is designed to do. So there was a rather sizeable gap between the bottom shaft collar and the steel joint. It had a god awful clank when he hit a shot, but did not stop him from ginning the back of the pockets everytime. So with the help of his female companion we convined him to let me get it fixed for him. He kept saying it plays just fine but he agreed. I took the shaft to my buddy James Hanshew and he put it on the lathe and turned it down a hair. He screwed the cue together smiled and continue to run out from everywhere for the next 4 or 5 hours. Super gracious guy. He just never tired from playing anyone who wanted to play.
