I've been asked to help ID my dads meucci. It looks like the 84-4 but it has the script lettering, it also looks like the M-5 but it has red veneers not blue. he has it at home so i have no photos. any help is appreciated. Checked Budgetcues and discount pool cues and cant find it.

Meucci ID

have you tried the Meucci website?

Send a pic to sales@meuccicues.com and ask for their help IDing the cue. I am willing to wager they will do it for you. Their website changed not too long ago, Bob use to have old catalog pics up on the site prior to it changing.

the script lettering only denotes the time period in which it was made. the meucci originals logo is older thatn the script and i believe there are two versions of the sript writing, one smaller than the other (but i am not sure about that), and before the originals logo there were others. you can look in the blue book of cues to get the full list, i don't have mine with me or i'd look.
as far as the color of veneers, and the whole cue for that matter, meucci did not always use the same colors. the stains on the wood, the veneer colors were all subject to change on any given cue.
my opinion would be it is the m series. the 84 seies would have had the meucci originals logo and it was just made with different color veneers.

Thanks this helps. It is the M series then. I knew it was not an original but the m I mentioned and the 84-4 look the same besides the lettering. Since they changed the veneers I would bet it is the M. Thanks for the help.

no problem. i had an m6 that had blue green and purple veneers, but most i have seen had a red combination. it was just something they did i guess to change things up and make a few different options on standard cues.

I have a similar model (the 95-8). I wonder when it came out as the 95-8 did they do the ones like you have? Mine looks just like the M-4 and 84-3 as well, but mine has the huge M with the Meucci cursive on the bottom. I know eventually it turned into the 95-8 but wasn't sure if they kept just making the ebony butt like mine or did they use both styles as the 95-8?
