I've had more than one cuemaker tell me that as soon as you put finish over it the figure disappears.

There is such a thing as Birdseye Ebony. Sold one or two boards to Kikel? (may have been Bender...been about 12 years now) many years ago. He may have pics of a cue made from it.

I had some fiddleback ebony. Unfortunately once it was finished it lost the fiddleback.

Mickey, another option for you...is to wipe birdseye with India ink. This should be exactly what you are looking for unless you need the ebony hit instead of bem.

I have some now.
Raw, it looks very cool. Hit it with the clear and it's still cool, but it's not curly.
