points dont look even....not a davis blank, my 2cents.
And you are a Davis blank/BCM/cue making expert how?
In all honesty...a lot of eyes in BEM, if they fall near or at the tip of the point, can actually give the illusion that that point is slightly shorter, when the light hits it a certain way. The minute you adjust it's angle to the light, the point is actually even.
Now, given that there are actually very, very, very few makers who do a veneered FS blank, specifically for sale to be completed by a maker of choice....and given that the points are long, tells me that it is most likely a Davis blank, and not a Prather, unless they have changed and made their points longer. It is a guess, but an educated one. Now, I could be completely wrong, and Bryan may well be doing his own full splices now...which would be terrific!!
BTW...just because the points start out even on a blank does not necessarily mean they will end up that way...for any number of reasons. It is also a reason many makers will NOT work on a supplied pre-made blank.
Now......can the OP have his thread back? Geez!!
