I've bought 2 cues from bryan before and they both played great. Whats different about this than getting a sneaky from him? $1200?????

Seller's can ask what ever they want for a cue. If you don't like it, send them a PM or move on. Not you business to shit on their for sale thread, is it??

You do know that comments about pricing in an active FS thread are a W/FS Forum rule no-no, right? Beyond that:

Davis blank = $400
For Bryan to finish it = $800

Total = $1200

As a side note...Keith charged roughly about the same to finish my Prather blank...so this seems to be the average.

To the OP:
The cue is beautiful!! The best of luck with the sale!

never said cue was not worth the money, the cue looks great.........Brian makes a very nice cue, from the pictures that were posted, I thought it didn't look like a Davis blank........I have had 30-40 of his blanks run thru my boss's store and I was just making a observation of my opinion.......you all need to chill.........have a cookie........lol

hmmm

points dont look even....not a davis blank, my 2cents.

Your 2 cents were NOT asked Moron. This is a for sale thread, and folks come here to sell stuff. If you want to make stupid, idiotic comments, that is why you go to NPR or the main forum to make them.

Tap Lisa !!... some folks just don't get it..... Yeah, a cue with veneers and hoppe ring, silver track ring work is NOT a Sneak Pete 'poolplayer2090".....geez..

tap tap tap ooooh guess you told me.

i've already changed my post. the rest of you can do the rest or leave it.

And you are a Davis blank/BCM/cue making expert how?

In all honesty...a lot of eyes in BEM, if they fall near or at the tip of the point, can actually give the illusion that that point is slightly shorter, when the light hits it a certain way. The minute you adjust it's angle to the light, the point is actually even.

Now, given that there are actually very, very, very few makers who do a veneered FS blank, specifically for sale to be completed by a maker of choice....and given that the points are long, tells me that it is most likely a Davis blank, and not a Prather, unless they have changed and made their points longer. It is a guess, but an educated one. Now, I could be completely wrong, and Bryan may well be doing his own full splices now...which would be terrific!!

BTW...just because the points start out even on a blank does not necessarily mean they will end up that way...for any number of reasons. It is also a reason many makers will NOT work on a supplied pre-made blank.

Now......can the OP have his thread back? Geez!!

Lisa did bring up a good point about the birdseye interfering with the points and certain angles but I would agree with you that it doesn't look like one from the pics. The cue looks super and Brain does some great work. Are the points actually even or is it just the pics? Thanks Scott:smile:

How exactly can you say it doesn't look like a Davis blank from the pics? If you're saying it because the points aren't even, then you don't know much about Davis blanks. When exactly did it become OK to shit on someone's thread like this?

And yes, Bryan does excellent work, and after he turns that cue down, the points might just be even.

Thanks, Scott:smile:

While I do see a bird's eye at the end of the bottom point...the reality is, even if it is off, it certainly ain't by much! I really like this cue...wish I were in a position to buy, because I would have already. I am not anal with the points being absolutely perfect on a full splice, because it doesn't affect the play of the cue, and getting them dead nutz perfect is not always as easy as it might seem.

Bryan is known for clean, tight execution of his cues. They always look 'crisp' to me. I bet the cue plays very well indeed. Remember, Goncalo Alves was Jerry Franklin's favorite playing wood, hands down.
