Linen wrap weight

Does anyone happen to know off hand what an average length linen wrap weighs?

Thanks, Robin

(I'm probably the only guy who doesn't know.)

I used to get about 40 wraps out of a 1 pound spool.
So that comes out to about .4 ounce. I may be making my wraps longer than the other weight that was given and I was using Blue Mountain linen. 4 grams like mentioned earlier would be over 100 wraps per spool. I have never seen that kind of yield from a pound spool of Irish linen.

I come out with just about the same and I find that most wraps are 12 to 13 inces in length. Sometimes a little longer, but usually not less than 12".

Approx. 4 gram +/-.

Sorry Robin,
I just realized that this can't be correct.
Too early in the morning for me I guess.

A 1lb (454g) spool of linen can yield 40 wraps (on a good day).
40 into 454 gives us 11.35g.
Add a few grams for the glue and you should be close to 1/2oz.

When I'm figuring final wght. of the cue, I add 24g for linen-wrap & bumper.
My bumper w/screw is 10g.
Somehow, I subtracted the bumper twice.
So that should be 14g NOT 4g.

Hope this hasn't caused you any inconvenience.

Say I have a wrapless cue and I want to have a linen wrap installed. Will this increase the weight or decrease it? By how much?

While I'm here.............No, it shouldn't affect the wght. to any discernible degree.

KJ- No problem, no worries. No wood cut yet.

edit- Actually, the reason I wanted to know was that I just cut a wrap groove, rare on my cues, and I wanted to know about how much weight the wrap would put back on.
