Free poolroom signs!!!

OK, I am looking for a leather burnisher with the POW-MIA logo engraved on it. Just make it up and put it in your cue case. When I see you next time, you can just hand it to me instead of me paying the shipping charge.
JoeyA engraved at the bottom of the POW-MIA logo is optional.

No you have to come to Xiamen China and you can get it for free. Otherwise it's $49.95 for shipping.........

Of course if you would order a case you can get the burnisher shipped to you for free :-)

Actually though in all seriousness if you remind me about two weeks before the SBE I will make one for you.

Free? thanks

i'm a 1/4 mile away i'll pick up all of them. This way you don't have to bother to ship them ! LOL

I have always wanted to go to China and see the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China.

The post office has labels you can print from your computer. No standing in line required. They will even pick up the packages for you.

Two signs to the same place in one box isn't double the price.

I ship a cue case across the USA for less than $20 and it weighs ten times what your sign does. Roy Mallot can ship a case to me from Indiana to China using the US post for $35 so why does it cost you $20 to ship a small wooden sign?

Some Chinese in China try to sell their wares using the same sort of free/low price coupled with absurd shipping charges schemes as well and it doesn't work well for them either. This is the reason Ebay now charges a final value fee on shipping charges as well. Because so many people were trying to get out of paying the fees by selling $1 items with $25 shipping charges.

So good luck with your free $20 signs.

Now beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all but might I suggest using a wood that is less busy as the large grain running through the strangely skewed lettering is disconcerting.

John,

I love your cases and plan on ordering one some time soon. However, I don't know why you seem so concerned with what this gentleman is charging for his wares. I do understand what you mean by the wording of his thread as well as the location he posted it. But I have to ask though.

If you can get a case to you from Roy then why charge more than double that to ship cases to your customers here in the US??

copied and pasted from your site::

Shipping Method and Cost: We ship by carrier agent. This means that the shipping agent chooses the best method depending on where the case is going. Tracking numbers are provided for all shipments one day after it has been given to the shipping agent. We charge a flat fee of $75 for shipping. This is enough to cover the shipping to just about anywhere in the world. For destinations in Southeast Asia where the shipping charge is considerably less we will reduce the shipping charge accordingly. Once the case is shipped we provide you with a tracking number. Please be diligent and on top of where your case is. We try to keep tabs on them as well so as to prevent any problems.

Again, I am not antagonizing just pointing out the obvious! As I do enjoy much of what you post here on AZ...

It's ok, I don't do anything here that I am not willing to explain and back up.

To start with I charge less than it actually costs me to ship in most cases. I settled on $75 to make it easier for the customers to calculate and get the deal done. As many of my customers know I will combine shipping and pass on the lower cost to them.

And as you can see from my statement on the website I say clearly that I will lower the costs if the shipping to a destination close to me is significantly less. For example to ship to the Philippines is about $45 whereas to ship to Singapore costs me about $65. So I will pass that savings on to the customer.

When I send cases to Roy he increases the prices to include the cost of shipping. When I ship one or two cases the price is the same as when I ship one or two to anyone else, about $75 a case. In order to get a larger discount I have to ship about ten cases to Roy which then makes the shipping about $40-45 a case. Roy does many special order cases with me and charges the exact same shipping charge as I do.

When Roy ships a case to me he can do it for $35 using the post office. That's what the US Postal service charges. When I ship a case from here I use the air express services and not the postal service. The price I charge is what they charge me, if I can charge less then I do. When Roy ships a case to me using the post office it takes weeks, sometimes up to six to get to me. When I ship a case it takes five days or less to get to the customer. Lastly if I were to ship using the Chinese postal service I would have to go to the post office and the charge is about the same, $75.

I have already looked into it because I naturally want to reduce the amount of shipping cost for my customers which makes me even more competitive. My competitors in China have the ability to ship from Hong Kong for $38 anywhere in the world. As soon as I find a secure way to do that then I will as well. Even if I had to pay someone $10 per package to handle them for me I'd still be able to reduce the shipping. But for now I don't have a safe way to do it.

In fact my position is 100% opposite of this man's tactics. I don't use the shipping as a cover to sell my product. If he wants to sell signs then simply post the price and make the shipping cost what it should be. Don't play games with the wording.

IF the product were truly free then he would use the US postal website to calculate the cost of shipping multiple signs and charge exactly that. Not tell people that they can order as many as they want BUT at 19.95 shipping PER PIECE. This is a sleazy tactic in my opinion and why I have a problem with it. BUT I wouldn't have said a word about it had it been posted in the appropriate forum section.

And thank you for your clarification here!!! I do understand exactly what you are saying and appreciate your saying it...and once again, I completely agree with you regarding the wording as well as the location of the thread. But, if you want to knock on his door then you can get them for free!!!;)

So, if I fly to China can I get a free case of my choice???

Honestly, I always liked your cases and even more so since I lay my eyes on a couple cases you made for some friends of mine. Absolutely top shelf craftsmanship IMO....soon, real soon I will order one of my own!!

I would bet a million dollars that the offer of free to those in Atlanta is simply a loss-leader tactic to diffuse the criticism. Everyone who does something like this knows that few people will actually take them up on the offer and of those who do some will insist on paying SOMETHING.

If you fly to China you can pick up a case here and save the $75 shipping :-)

If you want to stay a week you can see it being built at no extra charge and get the extra bonus of having me as your rack boy.

My point on this is simply that the "offerer" went out of his way to make this look a spammy "shipping cost" sale. If it was all innocent then sorry for the critique.

Sounds like BULL$hip to me!!!

Sounds like BULL$hip to me!!!

Would you care to bet on it?

Let's bet $1000 and I will provide AZB with images of a year's worth of shipping docs and invoices to match. I will bet $10,000 that I have PAID more in shipping costs than I have charged to my customers.

The only scammer here is you trying to get over on everyone with your $20 shipping charges and "no combined shipping"

You can't BS me. I worked at CueSight where we shipped HUNDREDS of packages a day through the post office, and FedEx. I often had to make the post office run and am well aware of the rates.

From the USPS - Parcel Post price from Atlanta 30301 to San Francisco 94102 - $5.41 7 day delivery.

This is the Post office's description of parcel post.

Used for gifts and general merchandise, Parcel Post shipments may also contain books and other printed matter weighing 70 pounds or less. The maximum size is 130 inches in combined length and distance around the thickest part.

Parcel Post "Balloon Price"
Items that weigh less than 20 pounds and measure more than 84 inches but not more than 108 inches in combined length and girth (distance around the thickest part) pay the 20-pound Parcel Post zoned price.

Parcel Post Oversized Price
Items that measure more than 108 inches but not more than 130 inches in combined length and girth (distance around the thickest part) pay the oversized price regardless of weight.

You can ship a lot of signs within these dimensions.

The priority mail price with a 2-3 day delivery is $5.95 to San Francisco from Atlanta.

So try again. In 20 years I have never tried to profit on the shipping.

You should have left it alone, you're only getting further into liar's territory with every post you make.

Next time try using the post office website first http://postcalc.usps.gov/MailServic...=0&MailingDate=12/15/2011&MailingTime=8:00+AM

You already Welched on the curved object ball deal when I posted the video of Grady Matthews doing it so now I am suppose to trust you in a money bet. Don't you have a patent leather pool case to build somewhere?

Those signs will cost from 10-15 to ship anywhere in the U.S. He has packaging and a neighborhood kid that gets $5 for taking them, which the kid prolly buys himself things that his family can't afford.

$10-15 Shipping
$5 Kid

He might make a couple of bucks on some signs and ZERO on others. Either way it sounds like a fair deal and not like an info-mercial.

I say leave the guy alone, for Gods sake. He prolly thought they would sell like hot cakes and made up a bunch only to have them sit around collecting dust. It's a tough economy.

If you had one that said, " I wasn't a nit and made the other guy shit", I know you could sell em in Louisiana! lol.

Ray

ps. I was that delivery kid when I was young.

Um the WHOLE forum agreed that Grady wasn't curving the object ball.

Man you are way out there. Post the link to the thread and you will see that no one agreed with you.

I knew that there was something disturbing about you that I couldn't put my finger on. Now I remember that you were the delusional guy who posted a video of Grady saying he was doing something that he clearly was not doing.

Sounds like a beautiful story.

And that's all it is.

Well in this tough economy I just saved him and his customers both some money. He can sell the signs for $12 shipped, $6 for the shipping and $6 for the sign. The "kid" gets to go "deliver" the signs to the post office once a week for $5-10 and feed his family.

I was that kid too who worked from the time I was 8. I don't want to hear any fictitious bullcrap about saving the world $19.95 at time, no combined shipping.

JB, you are a first class jerk...have you done anything today other than argue and fight with people on here? With this thread and the Mosconi Cup thread looks like this is all you have done.

Give it a rest all ready

Give what a rest?

How about you stop worrying about what I am doing and focus on yourself?

I was having a DISCUSSION on the Mosconi cup threads as were most others.

As for this thread it wasn't only me who picked up on the infomercial spiel and shipping scam tactics.

It would have been OVER three posts in had this guy not tried to play the China card. Always the play of last resort for the already defeated.

jb ? Did you forget about my pm we talked about? I sent you a pm abou 6 weeks ago. It was sent from account TIGER AM TOUR on here.
