Lucasi Amateur Shootout 5th stop Big Wigs

Arrived back from Ottawa safe and sound, to some pretty SPECTACULAR news...The Lucasi Amateur Shootout tour had 50 players this weekend at Big Wig’s!!!!! Thank you all for spreading the word, there is nowhere to go but up with this format. Unfortunately I missed out on our best event yet, but thanks to my trusty assistant Rod Babin and his girlfriend Mona, the tournament went off without a hitch!

There were 38 men in one division and we combined the women and juniors in another division of 12. Both groups played 5 rounds of 4 games in each round, with the top averages coming through to the single elimination rounds. The elimination rounds were race to 3.

After the dust settled, in the ladies and Juniors division, Sarah Love emerged the victor taking home $150 for her efforts, Nicole Stoker finished in 2nd place with $100 and 2 of our juniors made the cut as well, Cody Godfrey and Stuart MacTaggart took home $60 each.

In the men’s division, after a long hard day, we have another NEW winner, Nabeel Manek took home $250, Oliver Howson finished 2nd and received $200, John Serio and Clay Bowan (last events winner) finished tied for 3rd and 4th taking home $115 each, and rounding out the elimination rounds were Ken Cannon, Corey Wettlaufer, Cody Ward and Kevin Fenwick, each receiving $50.

Our event is in London at Stroker’s Feb 4th. I know a lot of you do not have vehicles, and now with the price of gas I am sure that those who are driving to the events would be happy for the company on the trip and help with gas. If you are in this situation, message me and I will try to arrange rides for people.

Thank you all for your support, we can only grow with your help. We are thinking about adding another division for the 6’s and 7’s as well, and would appreciate your input.

A very special thank you to our sponsors once again, Lucasi Hybrid Cues, Simonis Cloth, Atlas Billiard Supplies and of course our host rooms Big Wig’s and Stroker’s.

See you all at the next one!

This tournament is for 5's and lower. How do I know where I stand?, wouldn't mind coming to the event at Strokers.

Where do you play and are you involved in any leagues? Or have you got a 404 handicap, because it is 404 5 handicap or less as their handicaps make the most sense. If there is anyone that can vouch for you that we know, that would work as well. We want to maintain a level playing field, so far to date we have not had a repeat winner!

Regards,
Grace

I play in the VNEA pleague in Sarnia under DMD Amusements (Elio D'Andrea). I am currently a 7.3 in that league. My TRS for the London (Old Hamilton) tournament is a 70.

Let me know if you need more info, most of the guys from Sarnia know me and could tell you how I shoot.

I can vouche for Shorty, he's no good.

I rather

I rather be in a nice warm pool hall instead of freezing outside in the -35 degree wreather.

Hey Sarnia Shorty....I am not familiar with the VNEA handicaps so I am trying to find out what 70.3 shoots like, will be in touch.

If he is playing with about a 7.5 Average, TRS 70 (VNEA), I would rate him a "C" (BCA, APA).

I am not to sure about how your handicap is calculated, if you send me how you calculate it I would be able to tell you better.

Our handicap is (total balls) / (total games). You get 10 balls for a win and 1 for every ball you sink in a loss.

My current handicap 443/60=7.38. I have 33 wins and 27 losses.

averages mean nothing in VNEA

It also depends on the calibre of league you play in. If you had a 7.3 in triple "A" here in London I would think you would be at least a 7 or 8 at Strokers , but if that average was in a "B" league, you would only be a 5 or 6 at Strokers at the best.

I would think you would be a maximum of 6 as we all know how players from Sarnia shoot ( except Elio himself who is a definate 9 at Strokers )LOL
